The picture of him battling Samus looks a bit like his old dash attack, don't you think? Should it be added though? Meyguhmein - talk - *FURIOUSLY FANBOYS OVER MEGAMAN* 06:44, 23 May 2014 (EDT)

At first I couldn't tell if it was that or Aether's startup, but I'm pretty sure Ragnell is thrown one handed, so yeah I'll add that. FirstaLasto 09:53, 23 May 2014 (EDT)

Blue Fire Effect in Eruption Confirmed???[edit]

Around 2:06 minutes in the Lucina and Robin trailer, Ike uses eruption and you can see the blue flames!!! I'm not completely sure if it's eruption or not though, But here's an image I took. --Raph the Great (talk) 17:09, 14 July 2014 (EDT)

Could be a custom move. 75.141.44.196 16:11, 31 July 2014 (EDT)

Quick Draw doesn't helpless Ike anymore[edit]

Quick Draw[edit]

Someone probably misunderstood when they heard that an interrupted Quick Draw no longer puts him in helpless. They should have confirmed it before editing the wiki, as an ordinary Quick Draw is still the same as Brawl. FlynnCL (talk) 19:58, 24 September 2014 (EDT)

Names and in game descriptions of Ike's custom moves[edit]

Might be handy to anyone editing the Ike page Neutral B~
1) Eruption: Plunge your sword into the ground. triggering a fiery burst. Hurts you when fully charged.
2) Tempest: Plunging the sword into the ground creates a wind gust that pushes opponents away.
3) Furious Eruption: The eruption covers a wider area the more you charge it, but it also harms you.
Side B~
1) Quick Draw: Lunge forward and slash at any foe in your path. Can be charged.
2) Close Combat: A faster forward lunge that ends with a body blow that launches foes.
3) Unyielding Blade: Grants super armor during the charge and the lunge, but the lunge is slower and shorter.
Up B~
1) Aether: Throw your sword up, jump to grab it, and then swing it on the way down.
2) Aether Drive: Throw your sword diagonally up, jump to grab it, and then swing it on the way down.
3) Aether Wave: Creates a shock wave when hitting the ground, but it's less powerful than normal.
Down B~
1) Counter: Block and counter an enemy attack. The strength of your strike depends on their attack.
2) Paralyzing Counter: A counter that paralyzes enemies instead of dealing damage.
3) Smash Counter: Deliver a slower, more powerful attack when countering.

Recoil damage of Furious Eruption[edit]

Only a stage 8 Furious Eruption does 10% recoil, and a stage 9 Eruption does 15 recoil damage, but a "halfway charged" Furious Eruption does no recoil damage. Mariofan13 (talk) 16:15, 14 April 2015 (EDT)

STOP THE EDIT WAR[edit]

and just talk for crying out loud! Really guys? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 13:23, 5 July 2015 (EDT)

Forgive me for possibly sounding rude, but I really don't see what's unclear. Changing the head icon used. No biggie.Aidan, Master of Speed and AuraPer Request, for User:Aidanzapunk. 13:24, 5 July 2015 (EDT)
I honestly have no idea what either of you are talking about, I just know that you have stepped on, ground your heel into, thrown, and shredded SW:1RV at least twice. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 13:25, 5 July 2015 (EDT)
To sum it up, this user removed a statement about Ike's nair, saying how "it makes it sound like the sourspot has more ending lag", even though the statement is saying the nair has a sourspot as well as more ending lag. Ah. Well, it probably should be split into two points to be as clear as possible and also because a sourspot and ending lag aren't really the same thing. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 13:30, 5 July 2015 (EDT)
Thank you for the compromise, now it looks okay. Sorry for the editwar; and please, Aidanzapunk, read my edit summary before hitting the revert button ;) Mariofan13 (talk) 14:28, 5 July 2015 (EDT)
How do you hold it with sources? The fact that Ike's nair has more landing lag than in Brawl was added without giving any source (eg a smashboards thread). Is this okay here? I come from wikipedia where you have to give sources for everything :-D Mariofan13 (talk) 14:30, 5 July 2015 (EDT)
Usually stuff that's semi-obvious or can easily be tested (like moveset stuff) don't require sources. Sources are usually required for stuff like beta elements, etc. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 14:40, 5 July 2015 (EDT)
For the record, I really did read every edit summary. I get emails when pages on my watch list get changed, and unless I'm doing something, I almost respond immediately. Changing the head icon used. Ike's Japanese quotes[edit]

Should we include Ike's Japanese quotes and translations? We've done so with Ryu and, naturally, Marth and Roy. I feel that we should, even though I only know one of them. TheTrueJerryCan (talk) 07:01, 11 September 2015 (EDT)

Ike's placement relative to the cast/tier placement[edit]

In Brawl Ike was a mid-tier. Plain and simple. Number 23 out of 38. He currently is considered 26/56, which would seem to be a better spot relative to the cast. AT FIRST. But after looking into, I realized that isn't true. Check this Link out. http://smashboards.com/threads/first-official-4br-smash-for-wii-u-tier-list.429817/ Notice how the Middle Tier section is divided into 3 subsection. C, or high, D, or in the middle, and E, or low. In other words, High mid, Mid, and Low Mid. And where is Ike? In low mid under DK and Olimar.

My point is this: Ike is no longer just a mid tier. He is now a low mid-tier according to this list. So should his section be changed to say that he was nerfed? I'm not entirely sure. The new tier list may be changed soon anyways.Nightgengale (talk) 02:09, 3 February 2016 (EST)

The rankings they use are kind of weird in my opinion. They are more fighters who Ike than fighters who are higher than Ike in SSB4, where he is supposedly "mid-low tier", in Brawl, it is the other way around, but he is just "mid tier". In my opinion, E is more like mid tier and D is mid-high. -- EthanThis is a user image for Ethan7. Duplicate of: File:DiddyKongHeadBlueSSB4-U.png(Discussion) 12:26, 3 February 2016 (EST)
He isn't supposedly low mid-tier. He IS low mid-tier. The tier list isn't up to interpretation, its pretty straight forward.Nightgengale (talk) 22:04, 3 February 2016 (EST)

If Ike was 23/38 in Brawl (top 40%), and now is 26/56 in SSB4 (top 54%), then he is relatively better compared to the rest of the cast. It's really not relevant whatever they decide to name the tiers. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Researcher 22:10, 3 February 2016 (EST)

Okay, so I don't think any of the voters in SBR would say Ike was nerfed because I see no logic to believe that he was nerfed. His nerfs do not counter his buffs. He is better relative to the rest of the cast. Just because there is a separation does not mean that SmashBoards officially would call E tier "low-mid tier". Instead, it is more accurate to say he is in the lower half of the mid tier. Everyone agrees he's buffed but now that they made this tier list, you, Nightgengle are trying to say Ike is a worse character than he was in Brawl where before I am over 90% sure you would have said he was buffed. -- EthanThis is a user image for Ethan7. No, he's not better relative to the rest of the cast. He's better relative to himself. The reason he's lower on the tier list (low-mid instead of mid) is because there are more people who are better than him. But he himself is not worse than he was in Brawl - he's just worse than Sheik, ZSS, etc. are now. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 16:21, 5 February 2016 (EST)
SSB4 is probably the most balanced smash game, way more than Brawl. Ike is ranked above average. -- EthanThis is a user image for Ethan7. Duplicate of: File:DiddyKongHeadBlueSSB4-U.png(Discussion) 16:25, 5 February 2016 (EST)
His ranking doesn't really tell whether or not he was buffed/nerfed though. You can't compare him to the rest of the cast to see how much better he was, because the cast has changed as much if not more than he has. You have to compare him to his Brawl counterpart. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 16:27, 5 February 2016 (EST)
Well, if you compare him to his Brawl counterpart, as of 1.1.4 he is better, right? Saying he is nerfed sounds like he is worse compared to his Brawl counterpart. -- EthanThis is a user image for Ethan7. Duplicate of: File:DiddyKongHeadBlueSSB4-U.png(Discussion) 16:38, 5 February 2016 (EST)

Transcendent-less Airs hurt Approach?[edit]

How? I thought aerials can't collide/clash with other attacks, and adding transcendent priority simply prevents aerials from cancelling out projectiles? All I've been aware of is that transcendent hurts Ganondorf's down air. Shadow (talk) 03:11, 24 February 2016 (EST)
