Name of Final Smash[edit]

Take a look at this page: http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/bowser.html

The "Bowser: Final Smash" section says that the name is Giga Bowser Transformation. I think that the "Boswer's Special Moves" box is just referring to what he turns into. --Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 12:39, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Every other source would also say so if it was it's real name, including the Special Moves box and it's Brawl trophy. Judging by this fact, it's extremly more accurate and correct that it's the "Transformation" part that means that he transform into Giga Bowser, and not vice versa. I mean, why would they have wrong in a later edit on their own website aswell as in the game? I'm going to move the page back to Giga Bowser (Final Smash) now, and it'll stay so unless a discussion is made about it here on the talk page, and everybody votes on YOUR idea. Hacked GB Question[edit]

According to the article, he can be hit by other Final Smashes when hacked. How does he interact with the Dragoon? Can he use it? And does he have the animation for flying it? Does he still take damage from getting hit? Does the mini-cinematic work? Miles (talk) 20:29, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

He can't pick up items, so he can't use it, he gets hit, so the mini-animation works, he just doesn't move, and he still takes damage. Youtube FTW.Smoreking 2009 is coming! 20:31, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Moveset[edit]

Is it really necessary to list everything? It's almost identical to Bowser's moveset. In the interest of filesize and succinctness (didn't know that was a word), wouldn't it be better to simply note any differences and otherwise just link to Bowser's moveset? Trivia[edit]

I removed the trivia tag since the trivia section is no longer more than 1/3 the size of the article. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 17:27, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! Sir Anon the great 02:29, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
That post was made almost 5 months ago. Doctor Pain 99 (CTE) Dp99.png 03:33, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
Oh... sorry. I had recently left a tag on the page about the trivia section being too long, and then I looked at the talk page and I found this, and I thought that OT had fixed the problem. My bad not seeing the date. Sir Anon the great 04:16, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I did that five months ago. Another user by the name of JoeTE did some editing on the page after you posted the trivia tag and after i reviewed the page, I deemed that the trivia section didn't take up too much of the article. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 04:40, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Re-arranging[edit]

Besides adding a few new things just now, I also moved some facts to different parts of the article for a bit of consistency. I have it set right now so that the Playability via hacking section only contains info related to using Giga Bowser permanently via hacks. The Glitches and other oddities section currently has all glitches and strange oddities compared to other characters that can be seen in-game whether using hacks or not. The Trivia section has any other oddities compared to other characters that cannot be seen in gameplay, such as info contained within Brawl's files, as well as any general trivia that the section is known for. Crowd cheering glitch[edit]

I can't get it to work. I tried a match with a 120% damage handicap Bowser, and 2 300% damage handicap Ganondorfs. I got the Smash Ball and KOd them both at the same time (easy task, but somehow harder than it should be) 3 times. The crowd didn't cheer, or "beep" in this case. To make sure everything was fine, I tried KOing them at the same time with normal Bowser afterwards, all 3 times. Cue immediate cheers. Either that thing in the article about the beeping is false altogether, or it's only true for when the player plays as a permanent Giga Bowser via hacks. Can anyone confirm this? If it's the latter, it should be pointed out in the article. Espyo (talk) 13:40, 24 March 2012 (EDT)

He's Back[edit]

Giga Bowser is indeed returning for Smash Bros. 4 as Bowser's Final Smash. We got to see him during E3, at the demos. Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P3i5vsGvkw&feature=youtu.be&t=0m50s I know the quality isn't that great, but you should be able to identify him. 24.162.167.55 16:17, 11 June 2014 (EDT)Anon24.162.167.55 16:17, 11 June 2014 (EDT)

Page Split[edit]

Since Diddy Kong's Final Smash in Ultimate got its own separate page despite being a new version of his previous one, shouldn't Bowser's Final Smash in Ultimate get its own page? It's an even more drastic change than Diddy's was, and thus should warrant one. --Burb (talk) 19:13, 29 November 2018 (EST)

I'm in favor of Giga Bowser Punch and Giga Mac Rush having their own articles. SuperFalconBros (talk) 20:55, 29 November 2018 (EST)
Any Final Smash that has a different name should get their own page. But if it works 100% the same (and is not used by a different character), the page should probably be renamed to include both names. In Giga Bowser's case, it works differently in Ultimate then it did in Brawl and Smash 4. Wolff (talk) 21:04, 29 November 2018 (EST)
If it has a different name but works the same way, like Ganondorf's, the only question is whether to keep the article name the same and say "known as XXX in Ultimate," or move the article to the new name and say "known as YYY prior to Ultimate." At least with non-FS special moves, the former seems to have been preferred (Hammer Flip, Gale Stab). I don't really have a preference myself. SuperFalconBros (talk) 21:33, 29 November 2018 (EST)
I mean, R.O.B. has a separate page for all three of his alternate Final Smashes. I think Luigi and Rosalina are the only ones who's FS stay more or less the same and don't have separate pages, while Diddy, DK, and R.O.B. have separate pages as the moves work differently in some way. I think Giga Bowser and Giga Mac are the only ones that have a different name and function that have yet to be separated. Aside from the Gigas, the FS pages should probably be changed to reflect the current/latest name. If they're not separated into their own pages, the Gigas' names should probably stay the same as the Gigas are technically characters (either the same or different of their user). Split Giga Bowser, Giga Mac, and Wario-Man per all. Nyargleblargle.pngNyargleblargle (Contribs) 22:27, 1 December 2018 (EST)
I agree to split the Giga Bowsers and Giga Macs (for reasons above), but I oppose Wario-Man as that one kept it name exactly the same (unless the list has yet to update it). Wolff (talk) 22:33, 1 December 2018 (EST)
Although the way Wario-Man works changed, it still has the same name. Also, the page has all the changes between the games on there as well. I don't think it makes sense to have two pages named the same like Wario-Man [B/4] and Wario-Man [U]. If the function changed and not the name, why would we make another page for it? Luigi and Rosalina's names changed, but the functions stayed pretty much exactly the same. Both the name and function of the Final Smash need be taken into account, otherwise we'd have nearly identical pages, or ones that say more or less the same info in some areas.
I feel Luigi, Rosalina, and Wario's FS should keep the same pages, while Bowser, Little Mac, and R.O.B.'s FS get different pages. All for reasons previously stated. Wolff (talk) 22:46, 1 December 2018 (EST)
I will split the pages now, as everyone seems to be in agreement, if you all change your mind, the changes could be reverted. Ss4 (talk) 10:20, 2 December 2018 (EST)
