He's not saying BOOYAH, he's saying HO YA! It's a battle cry, not a word. So no. - Gargomon251 (talk) 17:00, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

What's a 0:8 matchup? o.O --Spenstar (talk) 16:23, 6 April 2011 (EDT)

Debut game?

We all know that "Ganon" was first in The Lenegd of zelda for the FDS in 1986, but actually, "Ganondorf" was in A Link to the Past, which came out long before Ocarina of Time. Okay, He actually wasn't in it as Ganondorf, but he was mentioned as Ganondorf. After one (or maybe even several) dungeon(s), one of the girls actually mentioned "The evil thief Ganondorf", or something between those lines. So, what should we do with that? Krisi (talk) 16:59, 9 September 2011 (EDT)

I say keep it on Ocarina of Time. The Ganondorf in Melee is clearly the one from OoT, which his trophy also recognised as his first game appearance. Plus, I wouldn't say a mention is a debut. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 17:02, 9 September 2011 (EDT)
Of course it isn't a real debut, but it does count as something. :) And it doesn't hurt to ask, does it? Krisi (talk) 17:35, 9 September 2011 (EDT)
Not at all, and of course, a mention of the Link to the Past name drop is acceptable within the article. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 17:57, 9 September 2011 (EDT)
Yeah, I edited the SNES article a while ago after I realized that Ganondorf can be claimed as having three debuts. He first appeared in LOZ NES, first was called Ganondorf in LTTP, and first appeared in humanoid form in OoT. I think all three should be mentioned. Mr. Anon (talk) 18:11, 9 September 2011 (EDT)

Ganondorf's special moves

How come Ganondorf's special moves are categoriezed into The Legend of Zelda universe but are said in the articles that they came from the Super Smash Bros. universe? Dots The Laser Ninten's sprite from Mother/EarthBound Zero, formerly used in Dots's signature. 20:35, 16 September 2012 (EDT)

They are placed in the Legend of Zelda universe because they are affiliated with Ganondorf, a Zelda character. However, they originate from Smash Bros because none of them actually are seen in the Zelda games. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 21:21, 16 September 2012 (EDT)

Misspelt Gannon?

How do we know that was a mistake? A lot of things have changed spelling since the original LoZ, such as the Rupees, they were called Rupies. MasterUser (talk) 00:38, 29 May 2016 (EDT)

They erroneouslty kept the name when the original Legend of Zelda was released. Since the NTSC/PAL releases of The Adventure of Link, Nintendo chose to correctly translate it to "Ganon". --My signature's image :v BeepYou, a user with no grammar at all :v (talk) 00:46, 29 May 2016 (EDT)
Because it has always been ガノン in Japanese, which converts to ga-no-n and therefore Ganon. The extra N is a ghost/mistake. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Loony 07:47, 29 May 2016 (EDT)

SpaceWorld 2000

I just looked at 3 HD images that were from SpaceWorld 2000's LoZ tech demo and I just realized that Ganondorf's appearance in Melee wasn't based off his appearance in Ocarina of Time, it was actually directly based on his appearance in that tech demo. Just look at these images and you'll know that this is not speculation. The amazing owen (talk) 19:43, 25 June 2016 (EDT)

How come, Serpent King? What's wrong with image #2? The amazing owen (talk) 21:32, 25 June 2016 (EDT)
It's a shape, with text saying, "I love N-sider.com". PenroImage.pngPenro 21:29, 27 June 2016 (EDT)
Ok there we go, so do you agree with this? The amazing owen (talk) 16:06, 30 June 2016 (EDT)

This is very late, and I'm sorry for this being late, but, yeah, seems reasonable. PenroImage.pngPenro 22:36, 3 July 2016 (EDT)

Um...wait. I think we need some better proof other than "it looks like it". It seems like an odd design choice to base Ganondorf off of a techdemo version of himself, don't you think? Serpent SKSig.png King 23:02, 3 July 2016 (EDT)

Quote from Source Gaming article. "Ganondorf was a special case and was described by Sakurai to be an ‘extremely lucky character’ to have been included in the game. His model was originally made for the SpaceWorld 2000 tech demo and happened to work well with Captain Falcon’s animations thanks to their similar body shapes.
