The link to Wikipedia for this game doesn't seem to exist; is it a misspelling, or simply just obscure enough to not have one? PikaPhantom (talk) 21:31, June 23, 2019 (EDT)

It's a misspelling. I fixed it. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 21:35, June 23, 2019 (EDT)

The Dissidia artwork is fine on its own, why do we need his artwork from FF7? Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer Leave a message if needed 23:09, August 4, 2019 (EDT)

I changed my mind about it you can delete the image. I only undone it because I didn’t know the reason why Thegameandwatch (talk) 23:52, August 4, 2019 (EDT)

Update on Appearance Basis

This applies to both of Cloud's individual game pages as well as the alt outfit pages for those games.

While Cloud's default look is definitely based on his Final Fantasy VII look, there are differences. Comparing his Smash render to his original concept art, many differences can be chalked up to minor artistic license, like setting his belt lower and lengthening the shoulder straps. However, two details in particular of note are his belt and his pauldron. Cloud's belt in Smash is entirely different, and bears a different SOLDIER logo than was in the original FFVII, being the logo designed for the Compilation years later. His pauldron has a raised strip of metal over it in Smash, and it also has four bolts emerging from it, while he only had three in FFVII (these differences are not merely concept art, there are also promotional renders and in-game images).

Cloud's design in full is based on his Dissidia Final Fantasy appearance, where (as with all the cast) his design was refined and updated by Tetsuya Nomura from their original appearance. In Cloud's Dissidia art, the new belt and pauldron can be seen, and he's used this tweaked design in other games since besides Smash.

There is also a possible inspiration for his Brown costume, though it's a stretch and I understand if it isn't added, just bringing it up - it could be based on the uniforms of the original incarnation of AVALANCHE, a more military-type group that preceded the incarnation Cloud joined under Barret.

That's my input, thanks for reading. 70.53.111.108 23:39, May 10, 2020 (EDT)
