Popularity and attention[edit]

Bidou is buzzing all over the place, and I can't imagine people aren't looking answers as to what exactly Bidou is. As it stands, this article isn't all that great because I am the only one who has done anything to it. RobSir RobSir-sig.jpg zx 13:36, 30 March 2016 (EDT)

Not anymore. I added to it greatly. Can we get even more people on board, perhaps those with more competitive expertise? 64.233.172.163 10:09, 31 March 2016 (EDT)

Thanks for adding all the info! I'm sure people will begin to give this page attention over time, especially if it is used in any tournaments. RobSir RobSir-sig.jpg zx 13:05, 31 March 2016 (EDT)

Here's a video showing Bidou being performed using the Wiimote + Nunchuck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7e7FwcB9CY —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.236.127.80 (talkcontribs) 20:06, 12 April 2016 (EDT)

Bidou specific techs?[edit]

Bidou is an advanced tech that makes some techs much easier while allowing others. Can we go form a new section that shows what specific techs can be done with Bidou inputs? 64.233.172.163 09:40, 19 April 2016 (EDT)

Project M[edit]

When experimenting in project M, I discovered that Bidou does in fact work in PM, although much differently due to the different mechanics in PM.

  • When performing the perfect pivot (or just pivot, whatever) the character does not slide very much, if at all, probably as a result of the dash-dance friendly run physics in PM. The same goes for the crouching perfect pivot, making the wavedash superior for movement. However, the perfect pivot has almost no lag, meaning you can jab, d-tilt, f-tilt, f-smash, or whatever faster than you could a wavedash, so the perfect pivot is better for spacing at close range, and perhaps even for positioning during a combo.
  • Instant run out of walk is (mostly?) the same.
  • Bidou c-stick down does not input a fast fall, but it will a (brief) crouch, a spot dodge, and will drop you from the ledge (without fast falling).
  • Bidou c-stick up will not input a tap jump, but it will input a ledge-jump (a.k.a. the tournament winner), and a jump out of shield (for whatever reason).

It could be worth mentioning, but deep down, we all know how PM is generally treated on the wiki. What happens in PM stays in PM. Gold Goldsig.png 22:34, 15 May 2016 (EDT)
