Strong oppose. The layout is fixed here, where in Melee and Brawl the characters encountered until Master Hand are random. Miles (talk) 19:56, 29 December 2010 (EST)

That's only because in Melee and Brawl there's too many characters to have a fixed layout. And that's the only difference between 1p game and Classic Mode. They both pit the player against rounds of opponents. In both, the rounds can vary between 1 on one fight, a fight against 2 people with an ally on your side, a fight against a giant character with 2 allies, many light characters fought at once, or a metal opponent. The both have mini games after every 4 or so fights (In fact, Melee shares 2 of the three mini games with SSB). The both involve fights against the Polygon/wire frame team (except for brawl, though). Finally, they both include fights against Master Hand at the end. I'd say that's enough similarities for them to share an article. 98.111.95.78 20:07, 29 December 2010 (EST)

Because the only opposition has yet to reply, I think the articles should be merged now. Mr. Anon (talk) 15:34, 19 March 2011 (EDT)

Just because they happen to share some similarities doesn't mean they're the same. And the name difference is almost enough to merit different pages on its own. I still strongly oppose. Miles (talk) 16:32, 19 March 2011 (EDT)

Then reply to my previous reply to your opposition. Mr. Anon (talk) 16:55, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
Classic Mode is a replacement for the 1P Game loosely based on its structure; that doesn't make it the same thing. Miles (talk) 17:38, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
Well different name I guess. ..... (talk) 18:11, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
The "different name" point doesn't mean much, since Target Smash has been called something different through each game. The fact remains that Classic Mode is pretty much the same thing as 1P game. Heck, it's called Classic Mode, clearly meaning that the creators consider it the same thing. They obviously couldn't call it "1P game" in Melee, since there are other single-player options, so they decided to distinguish it from them by calling it Classic Mode. Mr. Anon (talk) 19:20, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
Well at least the announcers say "Break the targets!" at the begin of a beginning of target smash anyways. ..... (talk) 21:39, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
FYI: 1P mode and Classic modes are pretty much the same but they don't have same stages for each games, such as Aboard the platforms is not in Melee or Brawl which means its excluseve to SSB. Also FYI: I don't know how to spell that well so forgive me too on that. ..... (talk) 21:45, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
Melee's Classic Mode also has some minigames that Brawl's doesn't. Does that mean it's something different. Mr. Anon (talk) 00:05, 26 April 2011 (EDT)
