Syrup is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Steve and Ness player from New Jersey and is considered one of the best players with both characters in the United States. After seeing success at online weeklies, Syrup had a breakout performance at SWT: NA Northeast Ultimate Online Qualifier where he upset Ned, WaDi, and LeoN, en route to a 2nd place finish. Thanks to that run, he would be ranked 42nd on the Wi-Fi Warrior Rank for that season.
Following the return of offline competitive play, Syrup established himself as one of the best Ness players in the United States by the end of 2022, defeating players such as Dabuz, Riddles, MuteAce, and Marss. He eventually put Ness as a counterpick character in favor of Steve in mid-2023, and also became one of the best Steve players in the United States, defeating players such as Asimo, Onin, and Light.
