Sky Williams is a smasher from San Jose, California, who currently resides in Los Angeles, California, that mains Wario in Brawl and Yoshi in Smash 4. While a successful competitive smasher with wins over top players such as Larry Lurr, Sky is best known for his YouTube and Twitch channels, where he makes comedic content mainly about League of Legends, with over 850,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 250,000 followers on Twitch. He has also provided commentary for some Smash tournaments, most notably Apex 2015 and GENESIS 3. Sky Williams has been the center of several in-jokes and memes within the Smash community, including "Sky has the best Yoshi in the world" (which arose from some top players, who either lived with him or have stayed at his house, claiming he is the best Yoshi in Smash 4, despite him not entering many tournaments), and "Dunkey beat Sky in Smash" (which arose from a video of famous gaming youtuber, videogamedunkey, humorously beating Sky in a Smash 4 youtube video that garnered nearly 10 million views, with dunkey continuing to joke about it in subsequent videos). Sky was formerly ranked 83rd on the 2014 SSBBRank, and was formerly ranked 3rd on the NorCal Brawl Power Rankings.

Allegations of abuse complicity and debt
In July 2020, amidst a wave of sexual harassment allegations in the community, Sky was accused by several people in the community for being complicit in the abuse that happened within his "Sky Houses", which were used to house professional Smash players. The victims alleged that Sky did not place any protections over the women and minors who lived in the houses, and was aware of the incidents of sex abuse and assault that occurred. He also was accused of manipulating guests in the houses, either sexually by suggesting that any women were "free game" to be courted, or financially by threatening to break something of value unless he was given payment from every person staying at the house.[1][2][3] Sky was additionally called out for owing over $300,000 in personal loans to people, with one person in particular having given him $55,000 for a cancer surgery that never took place. On July 6th, Sky livestreamed on Twitch, discussing the allegations made against him. However, he was heavily criticized during the livestream for not properly addressing the accusations and attempting to treat himself as the victim; the livestream only ended when his roommate unplugged his router at the home.[5] Sky admitted that the livestream was a "massive mistake", reiterating that he would attempt to make things right even if no one believed he would.[6] Later on August 1st, he posted a 90 minute video onto his YouTube addressing the claims once more. He reaffirmed that, though he was ultimately at fault for owning the property on which these events happened, and regretted choosing to house so many people despite the implication that he'd never be able to keep tabs on all of them, he in no way directly contributed to or condoned what took place, and had attempted to work with those involved to settle the situation. He directly apologized to Jisu, one of the victims, for namedropping her abuser and agreeing to invite a minor to the Sky House. He stated that he will continue streaming until he pays off his debts, and that he will depart from the community if his presence is no longer needed.[7]
On June 25th 2021, YouTuber Technicals would make a video debunking a vast majority of the allegations against him, particularly those made by Jisu.[8] He also includes a small snippet where he interviews Sky directly, with him saying that he has had difficulty finding a job or therapy due to background checks showing his involvement with the sexual abuse cases. Within hours of the video being posted, a number of people in the community offered their condolences by tweeting out #ApologizeToSky, which began to trend on the site, and Sky's streams quickly started amassing more viewership and donations. This included former SmashBoards writer Linnea Capps, who in 2016 broke the story about a Sky House allegation involving MacD and, upon initially viewing the video, declared that she would not forgive Sky before recanting.[9] Sky broke his social media silence three days after the video's premiere, posting a Twitter thread where he reaffirmed that, although he concedes to being needlessly aggressive and owing people money, as well as setting himself up for failure by creating the Sky Houses to begin with, he has never abused anyone nor ever condoned any of the incidents in the Sky Houses.[10]
