Rivers, formerly known as Shoyo James, is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Chrom main with a strong Diddy Kong secondary from Howell, New Jersey, who is one of the main tournament directors for the New Jersey scene. He is considered the best Chrom player in the world and one of the best Diddy Kong players in the world. He has wins against top players such as Tweek, Dabuz, Cosmos, VoiD, Myran, ESAM, Mr E, Wishes, Dark Wizzy, and MuteAce. Rivers is currently ranked 2nd on the New Jersey Ultimate Power Rankings and 18th on the Spring 2019 PGRU.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, he was a Diddy Kong main with a strong Luigi secondary. He has taken sets off of top players such as Tweek, Elegant, Ally, CaptainZack, komorikiri, MVD, Darkshad, Mr E, and Zinoto, and is ranked 54th on the Panda Global Rankings 100.

Rivers entered semi-retirement due to medical conditions near the end of Smash 4's lifespan; in an interview with ZeRo at Smash 'N' Splash 4, Rivers revealed that he suffers from tendinitis and thus doesn't enter many tournaments. More recently, Rivers has switched to the Switch Pro Controller for a more ergonomic control scheme and has begun to compete again in Ultimate.

He is currently affiliated with the DMG crew, and was formerly in OcS (Ocean County Smash).

On November 29th, 2018, Mentality Esports signed Rivers to prepare for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.[1] However, Mentality Esports shut down on March 17th, 2019, thus ending their sponsorship.

Rivers joined team ZENMA on August 15th, 2019, along with many other smashers. He later left team ZENMA at an unknown date due to controversies with its CEO, false.
