Mathos is a Midwestern smasher whose playstyle is recognized among Falco players as the current definition of a laser spamming Falco. Mathos is a member of the Central Ohio Krew or CoK, which holds a semiannual tournament of the same name that brings the majority of the Midwest and special outside regions together. Recently Mathos, KishSquared, and AOB organized and created the Midwest Circuit, a schedule of tournaments bound by common rulings in hopes to bring the overall skill level into rivalry with the other regions.

Background

Mathos began his career with a loss to Smog at a local Delaware, Ohio EB tournament. From there him and fellow smash companion Watty traveled to Flame of Bowser 2. The pair excited their high school's smash clique and began regular appearances to smash tournaments.

The local group formed a crew titled Pain is Love (or P.I.L.), which eventually combined with another group while in college to form Central Ohio Krew. Mathos is considered the leader of CoK and is known for his commanding abilities of Falco's lasers. One of Mathos' most well-known matches is during the crew battles at FC3, where the majority of the match against HugS and Wes were spent spamming lasers. Another notable achievement in Mathos' smash career include placing in the top 32 at MELEE-FC6.

Mathos co-hosted his first tournament CoKI with CoKmate Watty, bringing in over 70 people to Watty's house from the Midwest and Team Ben. With a start in tournament experience Mathos endeavored to help out at any tournament possible. By the end of 2006, the Midwest Committee started the Midwest Circuit with tournament hosts including the Ship of Fools, CoK, and AOB. CoKII was the second Circuit event which Mathos' then girlfriend housed in a furnished two-story barn. The second installment of the CoK tournies had over 80 participants with doubles, singles, and crew battles events. CoK111 was hosted in May of 2007, again in the barn of Mathos' girlfriend.
