ESAM is a South Carolina player, considered one of the best players in the United States, being the best Pikachu player and one of the best Ice Climbers players in Brawl. He is Nick Riddle's younger brother as well. He is a member of the Brawl Back Room, a former member of the Unity Ruleset Committee, and the host of the Zero Ping monthly series (located in Hollywood, Florida). ESAM also frequently commentates on the livestream at tournaments. He placed 4th at Apex 2012, defeating one of the top Japanese players, Kakera before losing to Nietono in the loser's bracket. His match with Kakera ended in two of the most famous Ice Climbers ditto matches in Brawl tournament history. He has also defeated Vinnie 3-0 with his Ice Climbers at SKTAR, earning his first victory over him. ESAM won his first singles national tournament in August 2012 at WHOBO 4, in which he also placed second in doubles, teaming with MVD.

Despite being known as a top professional Brawl player, ESAM is also a notable Melee Samus player. While he does not place as well in Melee as he does in Brawl, he is able to hold his own against top professional players, having defeated renowned Melee players such as Chillindude829 and Javi in tournament.

ESAM was formerly ranked at the 0 position on the Carolina Brawl Power Rankings and currently ranked on the 0 position on the Florida Brawl Power Rankings. He was also formerly ranked 2nd on the North Carolina Melee Power Rankings, and was voted 93rd best Melee player in the world by panelists on the 2013 SSBM Player Rankings.
