On February 6th, 2020, bobby big ballz officially announced that he became a sponsored player for Even Matchup Gaming.[1] On July 4th, 2020, Even Matchup Gaming parted ways with bobby big ballz.[2]

On September 6th, 2023, Twitch indefinitely banned bobby big ballz from its platform for drinking and driving on stream the previous day.[3] Following this ban, bobby clarified that the wine was of 12% alcohol content, and while he had taken one sip and the drive was 3 minutes, he would take responsibility for his actions.[4] Due to Twitch's terms of service prohibiting any banned streamer from appearing on any other live stream on the website, this effectively barred bobby from participating in any streamed tournament. The incident gained a noticeable amount of traction outside of the Melee community, notably being covered by large YouTube channels like SomeOrdinaryGamers.[5] He has noted that he won't be seen at online or offline tournaments since his Twitch ban, implying retirement from the Melee scene.[6]
On December 7th, 2023, Twitch officially unbanned Bobby Big Ballz. He has announced his plans to continue competing in Melee, with a request to tournament organizers to let him help promote their events in 2024.[7] The community has responded mostly positively, with many smashers and community members sending supportive messages on social media. Tafokints additionally offered to pay for his next major entry fee.

- Bobby big ballz is the subject of a clip that has since gained some notoriety within the broader Melee scene. After being sent into loser's bracket by Joshman's Marth in an online tournament (Training Mode Tournaments #59 in January 2022), he raised the possibility of going Pikachu in bracket. When questioned by Medz on this possibility, Bobby big ballz furiously responded by yelling "YOU'RE THIRTY!".[8]
- Later that year, during the in-person Wavedash 2022, Bobby big ballz would end up being sent to loser's side of bracket by Mango and eliminated from the tournament outright by Medz, both of whom were 30 at the time.
- He has notably struggled in the Donkey Kong matchup in Melee, having lost multiple sets against Ringler, Ckyulmiqnudaetr, and Akir.
