SmashWiki:Requests for demotion (failed)

This proposed policy or guideline has failed to gain the approval of the community, and so has not been implemented. It remains for archival purposes.

At times, an admin or a rollback may be promoted, only to become unbearable for one or more reasons related to their newfound power that may not disobey the rules outlined on SmashWiki:Rollback or SmashWiki:Administrators. If a community member believes that it may benefit the community to remove this user's power, they can come here to request it.

Rules & Regulations

• The user in question should usually have had their power for at least a week, unless there is an obvious reason why a demotion is necessary.
• Demotion should not be requested for personal reasons. Requesting demotion because the user in question hurt your feelings or deleted a page you made is not proper reasoning.
• If a request for demotion fails, another one cannot be made for the same user for a month, and it must be made by a different user. The same user can make another request for demotion after six months.
• A request for demotion is not necessary if the admin or rollback has directly disobeyed the rules outlined on SmashWiki:Rollback or SmashWiki:Administrators.
• If the user in question has not been informed or warned that their actions may be disruptive in the past, do not nominate them until there is proper evidence that they do not intend to listen.

Reasons to nominate

Good reasons to nominate a user to be demoted may include, but are not limited to:

• An admin or rollback who clearly has no understanding of the SmashWiki policies or the intended usage of the rollback tool.
• An admin or rollback who acts as though they are better than other users because of their power.
• An admin or rollback who mistreats other users for no reason, or does not assume good faith.
• An admin or rollback who abuses their power to get their way.
• An admin or rollback who is clearly not mature enough to properly use the tools they are given.

How to nominate

If the user has not been nominated for demotion in the past, the process is as follows:

1. Go to the end of the requests section at the bottom of the page and add:
   {{{{subst:FULLPAGENAME}}/Username}} replacing "Username" with the username of the user who you wish to be demoted.
2. Click on the new red link and add:
   {{subst:rfd|Username|reasons for nomination}}

If the user has been nominated for demotion in the past, the process is as follows:

1. Go to the end of the requests section at the bottom of the page and add:
   {{{{subst:FULLPAGENAME}}/Username (#)}} replacing "Username" with the username of the user who you wish to be demoted, and # with which number request this is.
2. Click on the new red link and add:
