List of challenges (SSB4-3DS)

A challenge is a term used in Super Smash Bros. 4 to refer to the unlocking requirements of a piece of content. Below is a list of the 105 challenges in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

If a challenge from a locked panel is completed, it will be marked as completed, but it will not be revealed and its reward will not be obtained until the panel is unlocked. As a result, upon unlocking a panel, the player will likely have several of its challenges marked as completed at once.

Pale yellow cells indicate that beating the challenge gives the player a Golden Hammer. Golden Hammers can only be used on the panel sections in which they are found. If a hammer is used, a hammer icon will permanently be displayed on the corresponding photograph. Certain challenges cannot be opened by a Golden Hammer; these are marked as red cells.

The challenges in the first panel are easy and/or take a short amount of time; the challenges in the third panel are hard and/or time-consuming, and the challenges in the second panel are in-between. Mii Fighters and DLC characters do not count for the challenges involving completing an objective with all characters.

NotesEdit

  • The challenges for Rival Smash claim they are unlocked by earning X number of KOs, when in actuality they are unlocked by earning a score (own KOs minus rival KOs) of X.
  • The challenge "Clear Classic on intensity 9.0 or higher" has a text error, as 9.0 is the highest intensity possible in Smash 4. However, challenges in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U that involve intensity 9.0 had this error corrected.
  • When a panel has all 35 challenges unlocked, a small, red "complete" sticker will appear on the top left of that page.
  • Any unused Golden Hammers can still be selected and manipulated regardless if the panel is completed or not. Any hammer used on an already opened challenge will play the error sound.

TriviaEdit

  • Several of the images, such as the third and sixth on the first panel, the third, seventh, and eighth on the second panel, and the second to last one on the third panel, are impossible in-game.
  • Several of the images make references to other games:
    • Completing All-Star on Normal gives an image which makes references to Twinbellows and Medusa.
