I think wolf should be higher on tier. But im not saying he's perfect. First of all his recovering, i always found his recovery to very good although it does have a small amount of starting lag. It is fairly quick and delivers a strong blow at the end. His wolf flash is also a good recovery, it is very quick and is good getting rid of oppenents in front him. Plus deals insanely powerful meteor smash at the end. Although he has a crapy edge grab. All of his smashes are fairly quick, tilts are fairly strong and reliable [except for maybe dtilt]. His bair is awesome, dair great for meteor smashes, fair is kinda slow with lag at end but has high knockback. Uair issue very quick and good at juggling to. Blaster is a little slow with low range but is good at keeping foes back. Wolf flash is insanely good move. Reflecter is amazing, great for getting out of chaingrabs and setting up combos, plus the invincibility frames. He may not be fast but has fast attacks. His jump is low which sucks, and does fall a bit quickly which be good or bad [mostly bad though]. His final smash is almost to good which can turn the tide in any match [but i don't care final smashes very much]. Please reply, and feel free to criticise, I like to know what you guys/girls think.71.97.206.163 21:36, May 1, 2010 (UTC)ShadowX

Why? BNK [E|T|C] 21:42, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
Well I do believe Wolf should be higher, he has several major problems that keeps him from the high tier. First, he is one of the most vulnerable characters to chain grabbing in the game. Wolf is especially vulnerable to King Dedede's, Falco's, and Pikachu's chain throws, which is made even worse by the fact they're top/high tiers. Wolf is also easily bogged down by other less effective chain throws such as the Lucario Force Palm and Wario's d-throw. As for his recovery, its decent but not good. One major issue with it is its poor accuracy which is made worse by the fact that both recoveries carry no momentum at the end. If Wolf misses the edge by so much as a inch, Wolf will just fall, being unable to grab the edge and fall to his death. As such, one has to aim for the edge perfectly or die. Wolf Flash is also unreliable at times as sometimes Wolf will just fall very quickly instead of grabbing the edge. When this happens, Wolf falls very quickly and often below the stage due to his air speed, often catching the player off guard, and it usually results in Wolf's death. The meteor smash at the end of Wolf Flash isn't very useful. The meteor is powerful but not "insanely" powerful. It is also very difficult to land purposely and any meteor smash with it is usually do to a combination of being lucky and carelessness from the opposing edgeguarder. As for his final smash, smash balls are items and therefore are banned in tournaments so they have no impact on tier lists. If they did, Sonic would certainly be higher. Wolf has good rounded power but lacks explosive power. He won't have too much of a problem KOing someone once they approach 150% but will have difficulty getting early KOs that aren't from edgeguarding, especially against heavyweights. One more problem that Wolf suffers from is having the worst fast fall in the game. His fast fall is barely faster than his normal fall. As a result, he is the worst vertical momentum canceler in the game (see Vertical Momentum Canceling Chart on the Momentum Canceling article for details). In the end, Wolf can fight like a high tier and can be a tough match for characters who lack a chain throw. But since he haves many poor matchups against the top and high tier characters (especially the chain throwers) along with the problems listed above, is what keeps him from being high tier. In short, added to the above post, Wolf's falling speed and poor recovering tactics are his glaring stigmas. In terms of range (out of the Star Fox characters), Wolf has the shortest. In terms of speed, Wolf is the slowest. But he makes up for both of those flaws with a decent amount of power, but this power does not fully make up for the latter and former. Wolf's fighting stance is low, giving him the best weight to size ratio in the game (next to Wario), which is probably what is keeping him from being any lower. BNK [E|T|C] 00:34, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
I would have to say Wolf has the best reach out of the Space Animals. Did you forget about his f-smash, d-smash, and bair. In comparison to his size, I would have to say he has one of the best reaches in the game. He definitely has more reach than Fox. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 02:33, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
