i was wondering why we call ROB he and pokemon it
I'm not entirely sure, but it might have to do with the fact that a Pokémon are gender indistinguishable, while "R.O.B." sounds like "Rob," a common male name?--Meta-Kirb (talk) 01:16, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

- Pokemon have gender, which is easily distinguished by a male or female symbol. Pokemon in SSB, however, are for all intents and purposes androgynous.

- Fixed your spelling. BTW, you can tell that Pikachu is male in all the games because he has no indent in his tail, and you can infer that the PT's pokemon and Lucario are all male, while Jigglypuff is a female. Blue Ninjakoopa 05:16, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

- Pikachu is a dude because his tail has no heart-shaped mark on it. Jigglypuff has a feminine voice, wears feminine clothes, and has feminine instincts and behavior, and thus is a female (I don't know why you want her to be male). - The whole mark on Pikachu's tail thing didn't exist until the...er...third or fourth generation? I forget, but when SSB64 came out, female Pikas and male Pikas were exactly the same. Same with Jigglypuffs, of which 25% are male (think awesome green headband), and there are no distinguishable differences. 12.5% of Lucario, Squirtles, Ivysaurs, and Charizards are female, and there are no distinguishable differences. Not sure if this contibutes much, but in the Japanese version of the game, Ivysaur has a very feminine voice.E123Brawler Ω 05:32, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
