Uh, you people do realize that this is just a game right? It's not like anybody died for real. Besides, even if R.O.B. did die, they could just bring him back again later. It's just like that recurring Kenny joke on South Park. He dies one episode, but then comes back next time without a scratch on him. A robot... cute? That's not the exact adjective I would use, but if you insist. Anyway, didn't you see what I typed? It doesn't matter how many times the R.O.B.'s die! They could just bring them all back in the next installment of Smash. Hopefully, there will be one, but if there isn't, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not heartless or anything. I think that was pretty sad, too. Plus, ROB, the Robotic Operating Buddy, well, he's my buddy. I feel bad for him, and my heart fell to my stomach when I saw what Ganondorf did to the ROBs. Plus in that one cutscene when the ROBs that were detonating the Subspace Bomb waved to ROB. I feel bad, but I realized they're all robots, and got over it when I realizer they could use the last ROB to build more. (ROB army vs Subspace Army RTS, anyone?)

I have no idea if this is true or not, but I think that Sakurai intended for us to be sad when the ROBs got sucked into subspace, and when the minister got shot at. Especially when it rolls on the credits and the sad music is playing. I thought it was kinda sad. Cheezperson (speak to the big cheez)
