Forums: Index Brawl Talk Who's not going to make it to the next SSB?

As we all know, every smash fan is wondering who's going to make it to the next Smash game. I've brought up a different question: who's going to be scrapped.

Here's fighters I want to be scrapped:

Lucario: He should be taken out, and replaced with Mewtwo. He was only put in to advertise his new movie, but Mewtwo's a classic, and he's the best pokemon in the entire series (who cares if he sucked in Melee?)

Here's the fighters I think are going to be taken out, but I don't care about:

Toon Link: Sorry to all you Wind Waker fans, but he's just another version of Link, just like Young Link was another version of Link, Dr. Mario was another version of Mario, and Pichu was another version of Pikachu. Zamus: Same reason as TL, plus she's only appeared in 2 games.

Here's the guys I want to stay, but fear they're going to be removed:

ROB: Let's face it, he's like the Dan Johnson (for all you Insomniac fans) of Nintendo, only appearing for cameos, which is sad because he's part of the Brawl family now, being a main character in SSE (which also proved that he has feelings), and we need robots (G&W does not count)

Olimar: His series is new, and only has 2 games. It's a shame, because Pikmin was a great game.

Opinions? 98.111.95.78 21:18, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

ROB will definitely stay in the series. He's actually very popular, but people started hating him (fun fact: ROB is older than you are, more than likely!) for no reason (him and Sonic). Lucario might get cut from the roster, and I'm guessing Mewtwo may be resurrected. Olimar introduced his series to the SSB games, therefore, he will reappear in the next game (according to Miles' accurate blog on SSB Rules), but don't expect Louie or the Hocotate President to appear alongside him. Wolf will most likely stay due to the need of antagonist characters for Super Smash Bros.' story (this will also protect King Dedede), and Meta Knight might reappear with a more reasonable moveset, which should include the projectiles he uses in Kirby's games. Sonic will stay; another Sonic character who should appear should be either Shadow or one of Ivo Robotnik's E-series robots (preferably Omega or Gamma), and Sonic's moveset should be based more off of the one he had in Sonic Battle. If that isn't enough, Chaos, Gamma, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow, and Emerl are actually very legitimate, but still, over-representing Sonic's series is quite the horrible idea. For a character from the Donkey Kong series, Dixie Kong and all characters from Donkey Kong 64 are completely legitimate, though this will push for Donkey Kong to get rid of one of his special moves for his coconut gun.
I've compiled a list of characters that I think will remain "alone", as in they won't have any other characters alongside them from their series:
  • Wario - Characters from his series are so unfit for the roster that it's funny. Even if ones that have a little potential appear, like HammerBot or Rudy the Clown, they will have too many baseless moves.
  • Solid Snake - "I'm done here."
  • R.O.B. - While the reasons are obvious, I would like to see ROB use his blocks for his side-B move instead of his arms.
  • Olimar - Explained.
  • Yoshi - He is the only character from his series, but I'd actually like to see Baby Bowser (only if not Bowser Jr.) appear. They had this annoying version of Link, so why not Baby Bowser?
OK so yeah. BNK [E|T|C] 22:07, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure whether starter characters are safe, or guys who are introducing they're series (Ness was almost scrapped from Melee). 98.111.95.78 22:17, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
I think they're protected, to be frank. Ness was almost crapped because his series wasn't very popular, but he still is an original veteran, so he must be kept! I could see Lucas getting the boot, however. BNK [E|T|C] 22:29, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, Raiden could possibly be included with Snake (seeing how he's the star of MGS2 and all). Clone, maybe, or he could have a unique moveset with his sword he uses at the end of MGS2. Shadow would be great, if he's not a direct clone of Sonic. Also, scrapping Luke would end the much heated debate over him and Ness "being clones" and all (and Nintendo would replace him with someone else, if you know what I mean). Lastly... Dixie would be a great female character to Smash. HavocReaper'48 22:52, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Sadly, Newcommers don't seem to be protected. Roy and Dr. Mario were newcommers to their series, but they were cut. ROB will stay though, as he saved video games from doom. They should not bring in people like Waluigi and Bowser Junior; the Mario series has enough fighters. So does Pokemon. They should have people like Pac Man instead, or Gooey. 98.111.95.78 05:09, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

Roy and Doctor Mario were complete clones of Marth and Mario. Roy would have probably stayed, since he is a different character, but Dr. Mario, albeit being my favorite version of Mario, can't fit the standards of individuality, and thus, was cut. BNK [E|T|C] 22:02, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

ROB will definitly stay. There are some characters who probaly won't be cut: Wario- He is the only funny guy in the series

Solid Snake-A mascot

Sonic- Another mascot

Olimar-Explained

Yoshi-Explained

Pikachu-The "mascot" of the anime show (not including Ash)

Lucario- His fighting style is unique. They should still include Mewtwo.

If Nintendo want's to sell, they should include more 3rd party characters, like Grand Master Chief. They also need to start listening to what this wiki wants in the new SBB game.--Megatron1 (talk) 19:18, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

ENOUGH WITH MASTER CHIEF....seriously, if Mircosoft got in with the next SSB, they'd released a higher quality version for Xbox, including a (very) improved online play. Nintendo wouldn't stand a chance. MC would not be a good character... HavocReaper'48 20:18, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
Note that Wifi is Nintendo's first attempt at online compatibility (yet people complain about Nintendo as if they had been using wifi for centuries). No one is going to listen to complaints, but Nintendo IS, however, open to ideas made at their website[s]. Attitudes like these are what will bring the fall to the Super Smash Bros. series; Sonic and Snake are enough (Snake took it a little too far). Megaman won't ever be in any Super Smash Bros. game. Krash Bandicoot won't ever be in any Super Smash Bros. game. John 117 won't ever be in any Super Smash Bros. game. Naruto won't ever be in any Super Smash Bros. game. Good news, yes? BNK [E|T|C] 22:02, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
Most certainly good news. Miles (talk) 23:43, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
To shut up all the n00bs, I'll make a deal with all of you. The day Master Chief makes it into SSB, I will suck my own dick. I will record me, sucking my very own dick. And you can all laugh. But until then, shut up. Master Chief is a fag. Kperfekt BURN!!! Revert That! 08:33, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

Top 2 To Most Likely Be Removed: Snake and Sonic (I'm hoping it stays on Nintendo instead of 3rd party characters)--24.11.24.139 14:56, 21 May 2011 (EDT)

I agree with BNK[edit]

What you said about Yoshi Toon link and Bowser jr are exzactly true. But snake is a very good character his final smash rocks and wario is very funny with his moves and adds a bit of humor to the game. But everybody else I agree with. I don't think Lucario should be in it, he is not a big character in pokemon neither is jigglypuff she should go too. I know lucario is a big part in the Subspace Emissary but he is an odd character to put in. Justpeachy--Justpeachy (talk) 21:13, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

If Ike doesn't make any appearances in the next Fire Emblem games, he will be replaced with a more up to date character. And maybe Pokemon Trainer will get different Pokemon next game. Dr. Pain 99 (talk) 02:53, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

I think Ike is one of the best characters so I would not take him out but he does not have a history in the game like Marth. So I agree with what you said. If there is another ssb game then I would hope they would change pokemon maybe to some newer pokemon, but those are some very important pokemon in the pokemon series so maybe the same pokemon will stay.

Justpeachy (talk) 15:00, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

Actually... the veterans, namely everyone who starred in the first SSB are safe, in my opinion. They are family.

I think the ones who will be scrapped are... Toon Link, because he is a clone. All he brought was the Pirate Ship map. Lucas, he is a half-clone. His moves have basically the same dynamics as Ness, give or take a few that are not the same. Pit-Come on... no one these days knows who he is, and he is not getting a sequel like most people put in the Smash games. However... I have some belief that he might be saved... Wario- I know he's an ok fighter, but he doesn't have a large role in the Mario Universe these days. I think he's gone.

These are the people I think that will have some changes. Ganon. A number of his attacks still simulate Captain Falcon. I think he will get a few changes. Bowser, I feel his attacks need some change. And something will be different.

The people I know for a fact that won't appear in the next game. Master Chief. He's a part of Microsoft, and his character might look a bit weird in this type of game. Plus, he's not going to get guns. Look how Snake turned out. He's mostly CQC. Ridely, he's a floaty, dragon, who will have to be weakened to high amounts. Mewtwo, he didn't turn out too well in skill. (Yes I think Lucario might make it. They worked hard to make an equation for his aura strength.) Megaman, forget it. Toon Ganon. Yea right... I actually think the Ganon we have now is a bit toonish (if you look at the face during character selection) but his actions are realistic. I know that Naruto will not make it. He has no relation to Nintendo ANYTHING. I'm not going to say that other Sonic characters arn't going to make it. I say that a few of them have easy movesets to make.

Well... thats my imput.Learner4 (talk) 00:10, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

Now your statement about Pit is a little out of date, and so is your statement about Wario - he has his own series. Mewtwo was not scrapped from Brawl because he sucked in Melee. Many people who play casually main him. The reason why he wasn't in Brawl is because he was replaced by Lucario to advertise Gen 4, just as Pichu was in Melee to advertise Gen 2. Ridly can definitly make an appearence. In the original Metroid, he was similar in height to Samus. Mr. Anon teh awsome 00:22, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not about to get in another argument about this as I'm very tired of this forum, but please stop saying Lucario replaced Mewtwo just because their neutral B is similar. I find it highly doubtful that Lucario was just put in to promote generation 4. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl came out almost a year before Brawl came out, so there would be no reason to promote a game that was almost a year old at the time. Also, Mewtwo being such a poor character led to his general unpopularity as a smasher, which certainly could have played a role in him not returning. But like I said before, I'm not in the debating mood and will not go through all the possible reasons Mewtwo wasn't in Brawl. But remember, we are not the developers and it would be false of us to claim such and such as the reason a character wasn't included in Brawl. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 00:36, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
Well what's the point of these kinds of forums but to speculate :P.Mr. Anon teh awsome 00:38, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
Speculation may be their point, but I tend to not like it when someone says "Mewtwo is not in Brawl because of..." instead of "I believe Mewtwo is not in Brawl because of..." or "I find it likely that Mewtwo is not in Brawl because of..." as the first one suggests they know the exact reason why something is or something is not, when clearly they don't. I also tend to not like it when people claim Mewtwo was replaced by Lucario. But from now on, I'm just going to avoid these kinds of forums since I don't like speculation and these kinds of forums don't use much logic anyway, while attempting to use logic just results in long, pointless debates. Snake and Olimar. 'Nuff said. I think Sonic should stay due to his high anticipation, and I hope sakurai doesn't include any capcom characters, or I will shoot myself. Same rules apply to Master chief (aka Justin Bieber).King KirbyD (talk) 18:13, 23 March 2012 (EDT)
