Depends what use it is for. ..... The Spectre Ninten's sprite from Mother/EarthBound Zero, formerly used in Dots's signature. 18:43, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
Against noobs and cpus, Stone. Against actual competent players, you'll probably get more KOs with Hammer. Both are poor KO moves however, with Kirby's smashes and bair being vastly superior for KOing. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 22:59, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
Stone is more for KOing if some character is near the upper blast line and you can try to fool them by using it. Hammer is just used for KOing careless people. ..... The Spectre Ninten's sprite from Mother/EarthBound Zero, formerly used in Dots's signature. 09:23, 28 March 2012 (EDT)
Unless a competent player is being very aggressive and careless, you're not landing Stone. Everyone knows about Kirby being able to Stone, and with Stone's slow start-up lag, combined with Stone taking even more time to fall, gives even someone who was up your ass a chance to react and evade. With grounded Hammer, all that is required is a good read (successfully reading someone's spot dodge, rolling dodge behind you, or an air dodge to the ground, will guarantee landing it). Then there's the airborne Hammer, which while still not easy to land, is much more landable than Stone is, while being comparatively powerful.
So again, while both are situational KO moves that can't be relied on, Hammer is superior to Stone. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 10:05, 28 March 2012 (EDT)
Stone and Hammer work very well together. First you stone to defend against a move, then you go right into a hammer to surprise your enemies and whack them hard. Both are very powerful in midair. Stone can stop you if you are going up, and can be very powerful from heights. But Hammer can swing again and again in the air. Both are very strong. Jellybeanman (talk) 10:50, 12 October 2013 (EDT)
