Forums: Index Watercooler Stickers and Trophy merging/deletion

Honestly, I really don't think pages that are strictly trophies or stickers, and nothing else, or having a part in Smash that is insignificant(such as Ashley (WarioWare) having a song) can and should be deleted. Any info present on them, such as the description for trophies or the effect for stickers, are listed elsewhere, namely List of SSBB trophies, List of stickers, and List of SSBM trophies. A general argument in favor of this can be found on Talk:Snorunt. Please discuss your opinions on the matter so we can reach a consensus about this and take action, instead of edit wars about adding and removing tags.Smoreking(T) (c) 00:21, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

hmm, i agree, there is already an article for stickers and trophies, and these articles have a detailed description on them aswel.--MỸŠŦЄЯỸЊӘҒҒ TALK 00:35, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

I believe that trophies merit an article unless they depict a character that already has an article, in which case it should be included on that article (Outset Link on Toon Link, for example, or else all of the various powers of Kirby). Stickers can be mentioned on pages that already exist (i.e. a Toon Link sticker on Toon Link) but other ones (like Wild Gunman) don't get mention outside of List of stickers. That makes sense.--MỸŠŦЄЯỸЊӘҒҒ TALK 01:31, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

If we get consensus on this point, I might make it official somehow. Miles (talk) 01:33, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
SmashWiki:Notability need not regard solely smashers. --Sky (t · c · w) 01:42, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Now why should things that are purely trophies get articles? The important info about them(the trophy info) is already documented. Why must we put it in two places? It's like the Snake codecs during the post-merge cleanup, they aren't needed in two places.Smoreking(T) (c) 01:44, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Backstory/relavance =/= trophy description. Miles (talk) 02:16, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Backstory/relevance(sp.) =/= important. If somebody cares enough, they'll look elsewhere. We're about Smash.Smoreking(T) (c) 02:23, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
I would make the assertion that Smash is about every other game incorporated into it... --Sky (t · c · w) 02:39, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but that doesn't extend to giving hyper-detailed information about each and every thing tangentially related to it. Brief amounts on things to explain what they are should suffice. For example, we don't need detailed descriptions of each dungeon of each Legend of Zelda game. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 02:41, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Which we don't have and which I would also agree is unneeded. In the events we have a sticker or a trophy on any specific thing, I see no reason not to give a paragraph of backstory and a paragraph of direct Smash related information. Saying Krystal is from Star Fox, and her role in Star Fox is what I personally advocate... Trophies especially show a tendency toward "who/what a person/item is", so why not expand on what we get in-game? --Sky (t · c · w) 02:44, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
"For example, we don't need detailed descriptions of each dungeon of each Legend of Zelda game." Of course not. But we sure could use a page to describe who Midna is, and why she has two trophies, two stickers and a song with her name in it. Miles (talk) 18:56, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
