Forums: Index Smash 4 Talk Green Missile in Smash Bros. 4

Hello people of the smash wiki. Apparently not too long ago my edit that the green missile (Luigi's Side-B Move) will be in the new smash bros. Masahiro Sakurai has not exactly shown the green missile's most shown and recognizable pose of luigi lunging himself into an opponent. But I am 100% that the Green Missile will return and I have specific evidence how and why it will return.

2 Major Reasons -

1. Luigi is still going the his Luigification with his moveset in the game (Scuttle Jump, Luigi Cyclone, etc.)

2. this Image: Luigi_and_mario_copying_kirby.jpg

Luigi is taking a standard pose which is also the same pose he did in Melee and Brawl when he charged the green missile.

Luigi_Ride_Mrsaturn.jpg (this was all I could find)

and that shows the proof I have for Luigi's green missile confirmed in the new smash bros.

(copy paste from Talk:Luigi (SSB4)) That could also be the ending of his back throw after he throws someone, or it could be a new taunt. It's too ambiguous to claim it as Green Missile. Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 14:58, 10 November 2013 (EST)
Obviously Green Missile will return. Look at the ground animation for Luigi in Melee and Brawl while he charges the attack. He will noticeably raise his hands in the air in the same manner seen in the photo. Also, Green Missile is a mainstay type of attack, much like all of the 4th specials that the original twelve were given. Finally, look at the white board of the Smash Bros. 4 characters; Luigi does the Green Missile, as well. Requiem of Ice (talk) 23:46, 11 November 2013 (EST)
Mario lost Mario Tornado in Brawl despite having it in 64 and Melee, which shows that even if something is mainstay, it doesn't have a guaranteed chance to come back. The white board does not confirm anything about Smash 4 besides acknowledgement about the series. Animations and movesets can also be revamped, with characters like Bowser and Pit receiving multiple confirmed changes. The "Green Missile" pose Luigi is in could just be a pose for something else while his Green Missile, which may or may not return, may have received changes in animation or function. to answer the possibility of what Scr7 said, no.... if it was, Luigi's hands would be tilted a bit more to the front rather than what the image you see right now....... Also to answer of what Megatron1 said, Mario's FLUDD move is in just to make Luigi have the original spin all to himself, and with the green missile and Cape completely different from each other, I don't think Sakurai would get rid of that move for Luigi --Mr.gameandfight (talk) 19:10, 26 December 2013 (EST)
Still doesn't address what Mega said about the possibility of changes in animation and function, and for my point, I don't see how you can judge these minor looks differently from just still images. We're just going to have to wait until an image or clip of the Green Missile clearly being seen, such as the latter part of the move. Also, you are pretty late in replying, you know. The fact of the matter is that while it resembles the start-up of Green Missile, it's not definitive, and the animation is too ambiguous for us to claim it's definitely the Green Missile, when it could very well be the ending of back throw, a new taunt, or something else (remember that animations can get slightly tweak inbetween the games). And ultimately, SmashWiki is not speculative; until we get something that definitely shows the Green Missile, we're not going to claim it's confirmed information. To get this out of the way, I used the hacked camera in project M to show the animations used for the green missile in Brawl, and the Back throw

first off THIS is the Green Missile Start: 1526147_618037881592613_1980410406_n.jpg Totally Identical to the SSB4 Picture you see

THIS is the final back throw animation you are thinking about: 1525336_618037981592603_940896264_n.jpg

Also on the point, all of luigi's taunts have been restored to how they were in 64, Melee, and Brawl.

and just throwing this out to what you maybe thinking of the taunt: screen-7.jpg

Read my reply again, especially the bold part. It's very likely the Green Missile, but we want to see the move in actual use before claiming it to be confirmed information that it's back, as we don't know what other new and tweaked things Luigi may have (taunts or moves, for all we know it could be a new move with similar start-up to Green Missile, like Flame Choke to Gerudo Dragon), and the start-up pose is just too damn ambiguous. There is no rush dude, there's nothing for us to gain to go ahead and claim it's the Green Missile now rather than when the move is actually shown. So calm down about this Green Missile crusade, and wait to see the move in actual use. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 22:00, 26 December 2013 (EST)
