Florida

Florida is a Smash region that encompasses the U.S. state of Florida, located in the southeastern United States. Florida is often split up into different subregions, the most important ones being Central Florida, which includes Orlando, and South Florida, which includes Miami.

As one of the most popular destinations for conventions in the country, Florida has been home to one of the largest and most active tournament scenes, particularly after the release of Brawl. It is known as one of the strongest Melee regions in the United States, as the home of Hungrybox and Plup, two of the best players in the world, and many other nationally ranked players. Florida also hosts a strong and active Smash 4 and Project M scene. During Brawl's competitive lifetime, Florida was known as one of the "big four" regions along with New York/New Jersey, SoCal, and Texas as one of the four strongest regions in the country, most famously home to ESAM, one of the best players in the world.

Florida is host to CEO, one of the world's premiere fighting game events, and several major MLG events have been hosted in Orlando. In the grassroots scene, Florida was known for hosting the Smash the Record charity events, as well as other stacked majors.
