Final Edge (ファイナルエッジ, Final Edge) is the Mii Swordfighter's Final Smash.

OverviewEdit

It involves the Mii Swordfighter lifting their sword and unleashing many low-knockback crescents of random colors in a chosen direction. It is similar to Wii Fit and bears a resemblance to the Sword Beam from The Legend of Zelda franchise. Compared to Wii Fit, Final Edge is much weaker, each slash dealing mediocre knockback, designed to overcome foes with its sheer number of slashes and drag them offstage for a KO.

This Final Smash behaves slightly differently between both versions of Super Smash Bros. 4. Final Edge on the Wii U makes the crescents follow a wider path, giving it more vertical range and less accuracy than on the 3DS. In both versions, however, the Swordfighter can unleash a powerful blow from its sword to anyone very close to it as it initiates the attack. This hitbox can KO opponents at moderate damage percentages.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the move was given an aesthetic change, in the form of the Mii Swordfighter rapidly slashing their sword to release the crescents. The move now seems to be performed faster because of this. Unfortunately, the Final Smash has less range than it did before making it less consistent for KOs.

Instructional quotesEdit

case foldout   Send multiple damaging shock waves at your foes.
Move List   The Mii Swordfighter raises a sword, sending shock waves forward. The waves pass through the landscape, making it easy to hit multiple foes. The waves also expand as they fly, making it possible to hit enemies repeatedly.

TrophyEdit

Final Edge
The Mii Swordfighter will raise its sword, firing multiple shock waves forward in its Final Smash. The waves will expand outward and push foes off the screen. Walls and the ground can't stop this display of power, so this Final Smash is exceptional at taking out several rivals at the same time.
With sword held high, Mii Sword Fighter unleashes a barrage of shock waves. They spread out in a fan pattern, dealing multiple blows to foes they touch, while also pushing them towards the edge of the screen. This Final Smash can even hit through walls and floors, making it easy to attack lots of opponents at once!
