Chespin (ハリマロン, Harimaron) is a creature from the Pokémon series. It appears in Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Poké Ball Pokémon.

Origin

Chespin, along with Fennekin and Froakie, first appeared in Pokémon X and Y as a starter Pokémon of the Kalos Region, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #650 as the "Spiny Nut Pokémon". It is a Grass-type Pokémon that evolves into Quilladin starting at level 16, which evolves into Chesnaught starting at level 36.

Seed Bomb is a Grass-type physical move with 80 base power, 100% accuracy and no extra effects. Chespin is able to learn it at level 32 in all its appearances.

In Super Smash Bros. 4

As a Poké Ball Pokémon

Chespin appears in both versions of Super Smash Bros. 4. It uses the move Seed Bomb, where it shoots explosive seeds from its body at close proximity and detonates them all at once, damaging nearby fighters.

Trophy

Chespin's trophy appears in both versions. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U it is part of the Pokémon X and Y (1) Trophy Box.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

As a Poké Ball Pokémon

Chespin returns as a Poké Ball summon. Although not directly changed, Chespin’s attack is generally more effective, as the increased hitlag makes it easier for each seed bomb attack to hit twice.
