Would an article for YouTube be a good idea? YouTube is the primary place for battles between smashers, glitches etc. to be uploaded to the internet, we have links to it all over the place, and SmashWiki even has its own YouTube channel. But at the same time, it isn't strictly a Smash Bros. website, so would anybody support creating an article for it? Toast  ltimatum  08:13, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

I Support. You bring up some good points. ChuckNorris  17:06, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

Support. Sites like GameFAQs or Machinima are not necessarily just for games of Super Smash Bros., but, namely GameFAQs, has been detrimental to the evolution of Smash to what it is today. Fugudev 17:31, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

I don't think you're using the word detrimental right. Omega Tyrant   17:55, 11 October 2012 (EDT)
The word you mean is "critical." ShupaRoeh  21:38, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

Actually I'm rather unsure. Dots The Cute Asian   09:05, 12 October 2012 (EDT)

Undecided. While YouTube plays an integral part in the Smash community by allowing people to view videos of matches, glitches, and other Smash-related footage, I have reservations about what the page will cover. I'm not sure what we could say about YouTube besides the fact that it's a popular medium for people to upload and comment on Smash footage. It's general knowledge that YouTube is a video-hosting site, and while an article about it certainly couldn't hurt, I believe that its scope requires a more concrete definition to warrant an article dedicated to it. We would give a brief history on the origins of YouTube, those details may not be relevant to Smash, but an article on a website should always give information on where it came from. Nextly, it can have a paragraph on its impact on the Smash scene, by detailing how it is used to upload and view tournaments and glitches, and any other things YouTube may be used for in this respect. Then we can plug our own YouTube channel, and link to YouTube itself. The whole article would probably be visible in its entirety without scrolling down, but it won't be the only website article like that. Toast  ltimatum  05:20, 12 October 2012 (EDT)

Right, this is what the article would look like: User:ToastUltimatum/YouTube. Perhaps this will influence anybody's decision? Toast  ltimatum  19:06, 18 October 2012 (EDT)

Support There are numerous types of videos, from the tournament-related stuff down to the speculative (the latter not likely to be covered in depth here). JamesHeart123 16:36, 19 October 2012 (EDT)
