Okay, this one, I will confidently oppose. The big reason is all too simple: a Power Ranking is something that is universally considered to be a proper noun. You only need to look at any external source to find that out. And if nothing else, the PRs are all considered to be names themselves. Sounds and seems weird, but that just seems to be how it is. Definite oppose from me. Vulpine sums it up pretty well. You don't see anyone saying "Pr". While "rankings" might be lowercase in sports, most if not all of the competitive Smash scene capitalize both words. Pokebub (talk) 01:15, 4 March 2018 (EST)

"Power rankings" is not used universally as a proper noun, as can be seen here, or if you just Google the phrase "Power Rankings," there are numerous usages of only lowercase letters, while the phrase "Power Rankings" is almost always preceded by the name of the organization or league.
The abbreviations thing is unrelated; it's true that no one says "Pr," but people don't write abbreviations in lowercase either. DACUS, SHFFL, and a host of other abbreviations are written in caps, even though their subjects aren't proper nouns.
As for the MoS thing, this is not an issue of whether "Power Rankings" is used more commonly than "power rankings" as a generic term. - I'd like to point out that all of those are news/blog/editorial articles, which are third-party sources that will not necessarily subscribe to a universal standard. - Many of the people who wrote those articles are active members of the Smash community; besides, their's nothing stopping them from writing it as "Power Rankings" if they really wanted to.
- As for primary sources, I'm assuming you're referring to when a region releases their latest PR. These are named "(name of region) Power Rankings", which basically proves my point that only the proper noun names of a place will use it capitalized. - In addition, the eSports articles I linked are written in a professional manner and formal style. Since SmashWiki uses a formal writing style, it would be more appropriate to use the more formal variation of the term, which, based on the examples I linked, would mean using the lowercase "power rankings." - Sorry, I thought I responded here. All I did was simply google "power rankings smash", and nearly all the instances of 'Power Ranking' I could find used proper noun capitals. In fact, the only instances that I could find that did NOT follow this rule were on the wiki itself. Granted, there are probably better ways of doing that kind of research, and I'm sure I'll get a ton of talk pages from you telling me what they are. Fact is, I was trying something that the average joe not fully versed in how the competitive scene (such as myself) would do, and interpret. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation.
