Split[edit]

Falco could use a detailed article of his own, like he has for Blaster and Reflector. I think it’s fair to keep his separate special move articles with their different properties consistent with Team Star Fox. What do you think? Jordan2009, the Sora Main Talk here 20:36, June 4, 2023 (EDT)

The reason for splitting the Blaster and Shine articles was that Falco's variations have different functioning that gave them very different applications (not to mention Falco's Shine from Brawl-onwards is practically a completely different move), thus there's a lot more individual detail to cover about them that don't apply to Fox's versions. What extra individual detail could you really cover here? Both final smashes work the exact same way (hit Special, Fox/Falco throw out a trapping hitbox, if someone is hit it then proceeds to a cutscene, and then they're launched), they just have a slightly different cutscene (completely zero impact on gameplay) and the launching hit has some different values (not anywhere near different enough to change how you use the two moves). If you can't explain what more you can actually add about Falco's version of this move that doesn't also apply to Fox's within 24 hours, I'm just going to kill this proposal. How the move’s cinematic plays is completely different, but is basically the same concept. Not to mention the camera zooming in on Falco at the end of the cinematic is not mentioned, which is something not present with Fox. While Fox launches opponents at the Sakurai angle, Falco launches opponents in a more vertical version of the angle, however, I think the angle’s base trajectory should be specified or put into some sort of perspective for technical data reasons. Also, why not say this move only hits up to 3 opponents? I’ve seen clips of the rectile targeting 7 opponents, but port priority always seems to dictate that the lowest three ports be subjected to the full attack. Now I don’t know if damage is different, the code makes me to believe otherwise, but I may need Zeckemyro or another Ultimate expert to give me any diffences. I also don’t know if frame data is different. Do you think that’s a good explanation? I’m okay if the proposal is canceled. Jordan2009, the Sora Main Talk here 04:54, June 5, 2023 (EDT)
"How the move’s cinematic plays is completely different, but is basically the same concept. Not to mention the camera zooming in on Falco at the end of the cinematic is not mentioned, which is something not present with Fox."
And this is covered in a couple sentences on the article, while as I said before, the slight differences in the cutscene has no gameplay impact whatsoever.
"While Fox launches opponents at the Sakurai angle, Falco launches opponents in a more vertical version of the angle"
And I already covered this too, while noting that changes practically nothing about how you actually use the moves (you hit the Special button, people get caught in it, you watch the same cutscene every time, then they take massive damage and die at 50%). Once more, what significantly different detail is there that would actually fill out an entire article? What are the different applications that Falco's variation has? For this split proposal to be legitimate, you have to explain how an individual article for Falco's version wouldn't just be nearly the same information. As explained before, the spacies' got individual articles for their Blasters and Shines because of how differently they function giving them very different applications and thus plenty of unique information that would get convoluted to all include on a single page (as well as Brawl-onward Falco's Shine and Wolf's Blaster being practically entirely different moves that only ever once shared an article with Fox's because they got stuck with the same crappy English name). Also for nitty gritty technical stuff, there is already separate pages for that slotted for them (as you can see red linked at the bottom of this article). I see no point then. I will just let you terminate this suggestion. Jordan2009, the Sora Main Talk here 18:02, June 5, 2023 (EDT)
