@Vote 23 - Munchlax is from Generation 3. Ever played Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness on Gamecube?
--FireEmblemFan275 (talk) 15:18, 23 July 2011 (EDT)
:Appearing in a Generation 3 game doesn't make it a Generation 3 Pokémon. Plenty of Pokémon cameo in the anime before their official debuts, and the XD appearance was just another one of those - a cameo. You can't actually use Munchlax in XD. Munchlax is a Gen IV Pokemon, but the anime introduced it while Gen III was still underway. Ruby & Sapphire did not have any data for Munchlax, and so could not be used in the games (or playability in the spinoffs, as they could sometimes connect with the main games), but as the Pokemon undeniably existed, Game Freak thought Munchlax might as well have had some cameos, such as its appearances in XD and Dash. The same thing happened with Lucario, Bonsly, maybe Mime Jr. and Weavile. :The general idea for this battle is that both command large armies; in the Fire Emblem series, Marth ends up with a large army of followers whom he has recruited, and they fight alongside him, while Olimar can have tens of Pikmin following him, helping him out.

:That said, I highly recommend you play a Fire Emblem game. They're really deep and entertaining. ReiDemon 16:58, 18 August 2011 (EDT)

#That sound effect at the beginning is some of the most joyous 12 seconds you can ever have. Plus, Hanenbow looks lovely, and I generally have a soft spot for it, being obscure, and the whole name confusion when it was first seen.
