Maister has joined and left several esports team, including {{Team|Nevermore}} and {{Team|Spacestation Gaming}}. He was representing, but not fully part of, {{Team|Moist Esports}}, and remained a free agent,<ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/Maister_SSB/status/1514654021675622405|title=Maister representing Moist Esports}}</ref> until he joined his current sponsor {{Team|Luminosity Gaming}} on October 9, 2022<ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/Luminosity/status/1579131365060124672|title=Maister joining Luminosity Gaming}}</ref>.

However, due to his risky and aggressive playstyle, he often overextends many of his attacks which can get him KO'd early due to Mr. Game & Watch's extremely light weight. Additionally, he can often become very predictable due to him continually going for the same options in certain situations without mixing things up (for example, he almost always uses down air after an [[up special]] [[OoS]] which makes his landing easy to read and punish). Combined, those two factors can leave him susceptible to comebacks which has led to upsets from lower ranked players such as {{Sm|Yei}}, {{Sm|Chag}}, and {{Sm|Stroder}}. He also struggles in some DLC character matchups, particularly in the {{SSBU|Joker}}, {{SSBU|Byleth}} and {{SSBU|Kazuya}} matchups, having an 1-19 record against {{Sm|MkLeo}} offline, suffering a reverse 3-0 from {{Sm|Zackray}} at {{Trn|The Big House 9}} when the latter switched to Joker as well as losing against {{Sm|Riddles}} two times in {{Trn|Smash World Tour 2021 Championships}} and {{Trn|Smash Ultimate Summit 3}} when the latter played as Kazuya.
