Hi there, I'm Ac2k aka Awesome Cardinal 2000. I joined this wiki in 2013 and was active nearly every day for a while. Now I'm mostly inactive but occasionally hop on to edit things when I feel like it. Smash Bros wise I mostly play Melee nowadays, maining Falco. I'm currently around Gold 1 on [[Project Slippi|Slippi]] but have never entered a tournament (online or in person). I also used to play Brawl a lot, and have played Smash 4 and Ultimate but don't own a Switch. | |||

I'm currently around Gold 1 on Slippi but have never entered a tournament (online or in person). I also used to play Brawl a lot, and have played Smash 4 and Ultimate but don't own a Switch.
On SmashWiki, I mostly enjoy editing articles about competitive content plus its history, and SmashWiki was the main reason I got into the competitive scene. I saw the news template about Apex 2013, and I learned for the first time that a whole competitive side of Smash existed outside of the casual world. I especially enjoy writing larger blocks of text (less on the numbers/tournament data side of things).
In terms of my work on SmashWiki, I feel most proud of my contribution to some of the most important articles and features relating to competitive play, including the following:
- I created the first Notable players sections on all the character articles in 2013. A bunch of other editors helped revise and expand the lists to include every character in 64, Melee, and Brawl, and eventually continued to all the Smash 4 and Ultimate pages. (So I guess you can blame me for all the headaches those sections have caused. Glad that SmashWiki has finally figured out a way to make them work)
- I created the first Tier placement and history sections on character articles.
- I helped start the Tournament news bits where we report on the most recent Smash majors in 2013. I wasn't the first person to do it, but I kept adding results for the latest tournaments and it eventually stuck around and became the current format we have now. [1] [2]
- I created the article on the 2020 Super Smash Bros. sexual misconduct allegations.
- I created the article about the the Leffen vs. Chillin money match, which I believe is one of the most well-written and thoroughly-referenced articles on SmashWiki.
- I wrote a significant portion of the "history of competitive Smash" articles for Melee and Brawl.
- I created the first competitive Smash region articles such as Tristate Area and MD/VA.
