The administrators of SmashWiki have many responsibilities. They mediate user disputes; they arbitrate users; they interpret policy during times of argument; they patrol and ban vandals; and they delete and protect pages to maintain the high standard of content on SmashWiki. They have a large about of influence in these situations, as this is what they were promoted to do, and users must abide by their administrative decisions in such cases.

However, administrators have no additional say in the content of SmashWiki. Most administrators actively contribute to SmashWiki- they will, inevitably, get into conflict disputes with other users. In these cases, the administrator should not protect the page to preserve his edit, block users that disagree with him, or apply any other administrative powers to his advantage in a dispute.

Likewise, no non-administrators should back down in a content-related argument with an administrator simply because the administrator has extra user rights. Administrators are not universally-knowledgeable about all things related to Super Smash Bros.; normal users or even IPs are not immediately wrong because they disagree with an administrator.

Any arbitrary decisions made by admins should not be applied to conflict disputes, only user disputes. Additionally, such decisions should be clearly marked as an administrative decision. Users are not required nor expected to remember who the administrators are, not are they supposed to be able to recall offhand who admins are. Users should view the comments of other users as just that- comments from just another user.
