The R Button refers to the large, grey button on the top right corner of the GameCube, Classic, and Nintendo 64 controllers. It is used in SSBM and SSB for defense techniques, such as shielding, rolling, and sidestep dodging. Its purpose in SSBB is unknown, although likely to be the same.
