| The '''Ancient Minister''' is the leader of the [[Subspace Army]]. He is similar in appearance to the race of Ancients in the Paper Mario series, such as Merlon. He is a limbless, possibly robotic entity who floats as if utilizing anti-gravity. Considering the Ancient Minister's appearance and the big role he serves, he is likely that there is more to him than meets the eye.

| == Role in the Subspace Army ==

| The Ancient Minister is, in fact, not the one behind the Subspace Emissary, and is not a boss either. Every time R.O.B.s are ordered to activate a [[Subspace Bomb]], the Ancient Minister would leave in despair as he watches his comrades fall into the abyss of Subspace (it takes two R.O.B.s to activate a bomb). He would often show signs (using his eyes) to show that he doesn't want to do what he's been commanded to do. At one point, when [[Samus (SSBB)|Samus]], [[Pikachu (SSBB)|Pikachu]], [[Captain Falcon (SSBB)|Captain Falcon]], [[Olimar (SSBB)|Olimar]], [[Donkey Kong (SSBB)|Donkey Kong]], and [[Diddy Kong (SSBB)|Diddy Kong]] manage to infiltrate the base where dozens of inactive R.O.B.s and [[Subspace Bombs]] are being held, along with a saddened Ancient Minister, a hologram of [[Ganondorf (SSBB)|Ganondorf]] appears, and he orders the R.O.B.s to activate the bombs. Seeing as how he would annihilate all of them, the Ancient Minister protests and attempts to prevent them from following Ganondorf's orders. Seeing this, Ganondorf activates an override which forces the R.O.B.s to attack the Ancient Minister, and vanishes. As the big turning point of the game, the Ancient Minister's armor is burned and turns out to be a heroic [[R.O.B. (SSBB)|R.O.B.]] in disguise and was being manipulated by [[Ganondorf (SSBB)|Ganondorf]].

| The Ancient Minister's trophy states he was once the ruler of '[[World of Trophies|this world]]' who lived on The Floating Island of the Ancients with the R.O.B.s. Tabuu wanted the R.O.B.s to work constructing Subspace bombs, and convinced the Minister to order them to do this and lead the [[Subspace Army]]. Also according to the game and confirmed by the "Smash Bros Dojo!!", he is the "Master Robot" of the R.O.B.s.
