Dark Pit would be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Dream if that was a thing. He was "announced" by Nyargleblargle on December 22nd, 2015, and is expected to be conceptually completed in Winter 2016, after the completion of Twilight Sparkle. He has been significantly decloned from Pit, now being a semiclone.

Changes from Smash 4

Attributes

  • Buff Weight: 96 → 99
  • Buff Dark Pit jumps much higher with his third jump.
  • Nerf Dark Pit no longer has a fourth jump.

Ground attacks

  • Change Dark Pit now uses the Bear Claws to swipe at opponents as his jab. The attack only has two hits and is noticeably slower, but it is much more powerful.
  • Change Forward tilt is now a slash (from Dark Pit's perspective) from left to right, with the blade held nearly parallel towards the ground. This gives the attack less vertical range, but it is quicker and more powerful.
  • Change Down smash now has Dark Pit slash with both blades downward simultaneously, causing it to deal less damage in exchange for speed.
  • Buff Up smash is stronger.

Aerial attacks

  • Change Neutral, forward, and up air have been reworked to allow only for a single, powerful hit, as opposed to a series of weaker hits.

Grabs and throws

  • Change Up throw now involves Dark Pit weakly lobbing the opponent upwards, then slashing them with his blade and launching them.

Special attacks

  • Buff Up special now allows for a change of direction mid-move, goes further, and deals slight damage.
  • Change Down special now uses the Shock Orbitars, which release small, weak projectiles that have a chance of paralyzing opponents.
