This Is Entirely Unnecessary...

... for the following reasons:

  • If a page is subject to repeated vandalism, it will be protected.
  • If a user or IP vandalises a page several times, or if they severely vandalise, they will be blocked.
  • If a user or IP thinks that a page should be protected, they can request it on the article's talk page or on the Administrators' noticeboard.
  • If a user or IP thinks that another user or IP should be blocked, they can request in on the Administrators' noticeboard.

I would also like to point out that SmashWiki does not have "Staff" - Wikia has Staff, we have Administrators and Bureaucrats. Anyway, I don't like the idea of a template that speaks for "The SmashWiki Staff/Administrators/Bureaucrats" as it implies that the user or IP placing the template on the page is speaking on behalf of the whole wiki.

I would like to delete this template - if you believe that its existence is justified, please give your reasons below. Thanks, PenguinofDeath 16:40, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

Honestly, I think this template will just encourage vandals to target the page. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 19:49, September 8, 2009 (UTC)
Dumbest idea I've seen in about 6 weeks. --Warwick 19:53, September 8, 2009 (UTC)
All pages are under a "VandalWatch" already. Besides, vandals don't listen anyway...they practically beg to be banned.L33t Silvie I see wat u did thar...
Agreed. Miles (talk) 22:54, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

I have deleted the template for the reasons given above. I am not going to delete this talk page as it should be archived in case the issue ever arises again. PenguinofDeath 23:45, September 8, 2009 (UTC)
