Mewtwo Strikes! (ミュウツーの影, Shadow of Mewtwo) is the 44th event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee. The opponents are Zelda and Mewtwo. The match starts off with the player fighting only Zelda. After fifteen seconds, Mewtwo appears and teams with Zelda to fight the player. KOing Mewtwo results in success, but if Zelda is KO'd at any time, the match ends in failure.

Interestingly, while Mewtwo is the opponent the player has to defeat, the Zelda CPU is actually stronger, being level 9 instead of 8, and dealing 20% more knockback, while Mewtwo has no such bonuses.
