There are two reasons why. One is that the player is the same character; {{SSBM|Mario}}. The player is Mario and the opponent is {{SSBM|Bowser}}. Two, it also takes place on a {{uv|Super Smash Bros.}} universe stage. Except it takes place on {{SSBM|Final Destination}} instead of {{SSBM|Battlefield}}. However, the difference is Bowser is infinite instead of it being a 2 stock match between Mario and Bowser. Mario has one stock and Bowser has infinite lives.

Peach's Peril (ピーチまたさらわれる, Peach gets kidnapped again) is the 19th event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

In Peach's Peril, the player controls Mario and has exactly one minute to prevent Peach from getting KO'd by a larger than normal Bowser. Peach will walk back and forth on Final Destination, and does not attack Bowser at all, whereas Bowser will direct most of his attacks towards her. The only thing Peach will do is use her Peach Parasol attack to get back on to the stage.

The player is able to KO Bowser; but he has infinite lives and will return to the stage. To successfully complete the event, both the player and Peach must survive the whole minute. If the player (Mario) or Peach are KO'd at any time, the match ends in failure. The high score for the event is based on the number of times the player is able to KO Bowser.

This event match is a homage to the Super Mario Bros. series, where Bowser almost always kidnaps Peach and Mario has to rescue her. Plus this is like the first event (Event 1: Trouble King). There are two reasons why. One is that the player is the same character; Mario. The player is Mario and the opponent is Bowser. Two, it also takes place on a Super Smash Bros. universe stage. Except it takes place on Final Destination instead of Battlefield. However, the difference is Bowser is infinite instead of it being a 2 stock match between Mario and Bowser. Mario has one stock and Bowser has infinite lives.
