For Glory (ガチ, Earnest) is an online mode that appears in Super Smash Bros. 4. During this online mode, players can fight anonymously with other players. All matches are played on Final Destination, with no items naturally spawning. In this mode, the player can choose to battle an opponent one-on-one or two-on-two, teaming up with an ally. Both wins and losses from matches will be recorded in this mode.

Different forms of Final Destination based on other stages in the game can also appear instead of the default version.

For Fun acts as a counterpart of For Glory in that it forces free-for-alls and items, as well as having a nearly unrestricted stage selection.

Glitches

  • In version 1.0.1 of the 3DS version of the game, if Peach plucks a non-turnip item in For Glory mode, the player may rarely trigger an automatic ban for "dishonest play" due to possessing an illegal item.[1] Nintendo has acknowledged the glitch and has released an update that fixes this issue.[2]
