The Evade mode in SSB 64's training mode.
Not to be confused with dodging.

Evade, or Run in Brawl, is a CPU behavior in Training mode in the Smash Bros. games. It causes the character to run away from the player and will rarely, if ever, attack unless part of a recovery. In Debug Mode, it is known as ESCAPE.

Characteristics

A CPU Luigi in Evade mode.

In evade mode, a CPU will try every possible means to get away from the player, short of SDing. This includes running, dodging, and jumping. If the CPU is a "safe" distance from the player, it will just walk around blindly until the player approaches again.
