Spear Pillar made it's debut in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl where Dialga and Palkia can be captured. Arceus can also be captured at Spear Pillar in the Hall of Origin in Diamond and Pearl.
Contrary to the popular theory, this was the stage confirmed in the November 2007 video with Squirtle and the tree. While it was thought that the stage Squirtle was on was Luigi's mansion, the moon on that stage is too big to be the moon in that video. That moon was later revealed to be the moon on the Spear Pillar.

Spear Pillar has been confirmed to appear as a playable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, apparently Dialga and Palkia, appear in the background to devastate the players, screenshots can be seen here. It is a destructible stage, and features a cave underneath the surface which players can enter.
"Spear Pillar" is the area in Pokemon Diamond & Pearl for Nintendo DS in which the player finds the Legendary Pokemon Dialga or Palkia, depending on the game.  The Area is set in a Temple Ruin-like Area, with a large dark space-like sky seen above the stage, which appears in Pokemon Diamond & Pearl.  In-game screenshots reveal Dialga standing in the background of the stage, as it appears in Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, while videos show that Palkia also appears. Videos also confirm that 1.) Palkia & Dialga as they appear perform attacks at random, Roar of Time for Dialga, and Spacial Rend for Palkia. 2.) It is possible to go inside the cave of Mt. Coronet, stationed below the main fighting area, and 3.) The Stage will sometimes rotate at a slight angle, slowly growing back to its original state.

Also the Pokémon, Cresselia and Arceus appears sometimes and also the Lake trio appear Mespirit, Azelf and Uxie appear when something happens to the stage.

Stage Elements
After the first few seconds in battle, Dialga (common), Palkia (uncommon), Cresselia (rare), or Arceus(very rare) shows up in the background of the stage. The pokemon do different actions such as:

Dialga: Horizontal beam on the lower section, vertical beam covering 1/3 of the stage, Roar of Time (jumps into the stage and damages anyone near Dialga), break the middle part of the top level

Palkia: Same as Dialga, except uses Spacial Rend instead of Roar of Time.

Cresselia: Shoots a boomerang-like energy blade, which randomly goes around the stage, or uses Psycho Cut(shoots waves straight at the top platform).

Arceus: Same as Dialga and Palkia, and also uses Judgment(OHKO to anyone on the top platform).

Spear Pillar
Appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Availability Unknown, Probably Unlockable

Contrary to the popular theory, this was the stage confirmed in the November 2007 video with Squirtle and the tree. While it was thought that the stage Squirtle was on was Luigi's mansion, the moon on that stage is too big to be the moon in that video. That moon was later revealed to be the moon on the Spear Pillar.
