The boomerang is a recurring attack used by [[Link]]. Just as it sounds, Link throws a boomerang for attack. In [[Super Smash Bros.]] it was a fast projectile (if a player looks closely enough, they'll notice that goes from yellow with stripes to glowing blue after it's thrown), but it's much slower in [[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]. In both games, the boomerang would try to come back Link after being thrown, which means it could still hit enemies even if they dodged it the first time. The downside is that Link can't use the boomerang until it returns to him. It wouldn't always return to Link, but he could still use it again if it left the screen.

The boomerang is one of Link's special attacks. Just as it sounds, Link throws a boomerang for attack. In Super Smash Bros. it was a fast projectile (if a player looks closely enough, they'll notice that goes from yellow with stripes to glowing blue after it's thrown), but it's much slower in Super Smash Bros. Melee. In both games, the boomerang would try to come back Link after being thrown, which means it could still hit enemies even if they dodged it the first time. The downside is that Link can't use the boomerang until it returns to him. It wouldn't always return to Link, but he could still use it again if it left the screen.
