F.L.U.D.D. (Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device) first appeared as one of the main characters in [[Super Mario Sunshine]]. He aided [[Mario]] in his quest to save [[Princess Peach]]. He was invented by [[Professor Elvin Gadd]] (also called [[Egadd]]). Since then F.L.U.D.D. has appeared in numerous cameos.

F.L.U.D.D. is Mario's Down B in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, taken from Super Mario Sunshine. After taking it out, holding down and B will charge it up, which can be done anytime (even when shielding). Letting go of down and B fires a stream of water that does no damage, but does have knockback, potentially making it an excellent Edgeguarding move.
