The stage is made up of two small platforms. The bottom one is slightly raised to the right and lower to the left. Above the middle of the bottom platform is a floating platform.

The overall look of it is rather metallic and metal looking. There are large crystals in the back of the stage. There is a metal path in the middle of the larger platform on the stage. Many elements from this stage are similar to elements from [[Super Mario 64]].
In this stage the goal is to simple KO [[Metal Mario]] but since he is metal he receives little [[knockback]] even when his damage counter is in the 200+ range. The Metal Mario stage is a stage only appearing in the 1P Game of Super Smash Bros.

In this stage the goal is to simple KO Metal Mario but since he is metal he receives little knockback even when his damage counter is in the 200+ range. The easiest way to defeat him is to accumulate damage on him and grab him near the edge and throw him off the stage. Since he is made of metal, he is heavier and drops quicker making him easy to KO when thrown.

There are two platforms on this stage, one baseline and one platform. The solid base is slanted upward toward the right giving the player an advantage with projectiles. The other platform center above the other can be jumped and dropped through.

The music of this stage mainly consists of what sounds like rocks smashing against each other.

This stage is based on Mario's Metal Box power-up in Super Mario 64. Though this stage itself does not return in Melee, a Metal Mario (and Luigi) battle returns on the Battlefield (SSBM) stage. The Metal Box mentioned earlier is an item appearing in Melee as well, allowing every playable character to become metal.
