The Central Alberta Smash Tournament (abbreviated "CAST") is a series of tournaments held in Red Deer, Alberta. CAST grew substantially more popular after the first tournament and began to serve as a gathering for competitive players from all across Alberta.
Common rules
- Brackets
- Singles: players were randomly assigned a spot in the 64-entrant bracket and proceed to advance though the winners bracket and the loser bracket.
- Doubles: All entered teams were placed directly into a 32-entrant bracket.
- Stages
- Random stages: Pokémon Stadium, Battlefield, Final Destination, Fountain of Dreams, Yoshi's Story, Dreamland 64.
- Counter pick stages: Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Pokémon Stadium, Battlefield, Dream Land 64, Final Destination.
- All other stages are banned.
