Hi, I'm a visitor from the Mario Wiki, and as someone pointed out there, this is actually just [https://www.mariowiki.com/File:SSB4_WiiU_SmashBall.jpg this] ''Super Smash Bros. for Wii U'' screenshot from said game's official website, just cropped, rotated, and flipped. Is this particular rendition from an official source or a fan edit? Not sure what this site's policies on that are, but just making sure that's known. :Hello. The image in question does not appear particularly likely to be a fan edit. To my knowledge, the image has come from footage, however due to the finite range of colours that appear on the ball, and the fake smash ball's design being a corruption of the original smash ball's design, there are likely to be apparent matches between any given image of a fake smash ball and some image of a smash ball that exists on the internet, which is the most probable cause of this confusion. Additionally, the image you posted possesses a background that doesn't sharply contrast the colour of the ball that well, so removing the background from said image would be exceedingly difficult, which casts further doubt on the claim that the image is an edit of the image you posted.
:That being said though, the image currently in use is somewhat of a placeholder until a higher quality image, or artwork, can be obtained. When artwork is available, please feel free to update the image. Hello.
That being said though, the image currently in use is somewhat of a placeholder until a higher quality image, or artwork, can be obtained. When artwork is available, please feel free to update the image. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 11:45, 27 June 2018 (EDT)
