:::::Let's all take a step back. I looked over the article, and there were some sections that definitely weren't NPOV. The blog post did not confirm that M2K had fixed the match, it confirmed that they discussed splitting, and instead one person gave some of the prize money to the other. I don't know if the specific rules cover this (from the blog, it seems that it's a very grey area), but from my days playing competitive MTG, this is one of the more common things that happens in tourneys. For the few SSB tourneys I organized, I really stayed out of it as I just accepted it as part of the game. Regardless, we can verify that MLG/Unity did hand down some punishment, and we can comment on what the punishment was and what they cited as the reason for it. I'd like to stay away from "community backlash" as there really isn't much that it does for anyone and it's very difficult to prove when something goes from one guy writing and blog and people join +1 versus when there actually is a SSB community opinion on it. Hope this clears things up, and M2K, if there is anything else about the page you would like to clear up, I'm happy to help.
