New wiki

If any one has played Sonic Chronicles before, I need help on this wiki.

User page...

Although I am interested into making a user page, it just looks too complicated and time consuming to fit ALL my Smash-related info in one page. I seriously don't know any "advanced "techniques" like making grids or putting a colored background, I learn them by going to the "Edit Page" button and copying and pasting the info, like how I added that grid thing on the Super Mario Sunshine page, I just copied it from the Super Mario World and added things related to Mario Sunshine, including the picture. I also did that in a more pathetic way with the page for the DS, where I just copied the first part of the grid thing for the originating characters on the Game Boy page and pasted it to the DS one just replacing "Dr. Mario" with "Lucario" and...well "Dr. Mario" with "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl" (with the special "e", which I also copied and pasted and I once knew how to make it), 'cause y' know he first appeared there, good thing someone fixed that.

I'm also guessing that those numbers at the end mean the time it was when you posted your post, I'm guessing.

Nobody learns the best wikistuff all at once. Make it simple before you make it cool. For example, start out with simple lists (using * or # at the beginning of lines) instead of trying to work with tables. You have the right idea about taking the source from already-established content to learn from; just ease yourself into it. Don't forget to use the Preview button to see how things will look before you click Save Page; this is extremely helpful when working with wikiformatting and generally better style (as opposed to making a bunch of small edits). Here's a tip

If you go to a page's history, you can click on the "undo" link beside an edit. If you then click "save page" right away, the edit will be undone; before you click "save page", you can also make an additional edit, or change the edit summary to be more descriptive. How to use the welcome template

I've noticed that you haven't been using the welcome template as it's been designed to be used. So, here's the gist: instead of typing {{Welcome}}, type {{subst:Welcome|WhateverYourUsernameIs|~~~~}}. This does two things:

It automatically signs for you (since you provided it with ~~~~), and it puts it and your username in the right places.
It subst's the template. I'm not that sure how to explain it, but it stops resource draining and makes the page load faster.

What I Think About Your Rules

I have a couple of problems with what you have for rules. First off, I don't believe in timed matches in Brawl. Second, I don't really like Smash Balls. Oh and also, my bro might play too. I'll give you my friend code on Friday.

I put in the time matches so no one will use a huge hiding strategy. As long as you don't do that, I'll get rid of the Smash Ball thing.

Another Thing

Do you know what spiking and edge guarding is? Well you probably know more about that stuff more than me (considering you have an account on Smash Wikia) but, I like to talk to people about it. :D

You see a stand selling cameras. A camer and case set cost $310. The seller tells you that the camera costs $300 (LOL) more than the case itself and that the case costs the price of the set minus the price of the camera. You decide to buy the case alone. You give the seller $100 and see him smile. How much change should you get from this?

A few questions though, (if this is the right place) I did read the help files but I am still confused on a few things. 1 What is the IRC I went on it but didn't understand it. 2 Whats the differance between the forums and a disscussion page? 3 I've seen people not use a talk page right is it okay to say somthing on your talk page for other people to reply to? 4 How do people become administrator or beauracoda (sorry I think that's the wrong spelling)

1. IRC is a faster way to talk as I said earlier. 2. A dsicussion pg isn't normally made for fun. It's made for talk about merging the article and such. Forums are a good place to talk about a topic and get responses. 3. Using a fourm would be better but you could do that. 4. You have to request to be one on a specific pg. The forums isn't really a good place to talk about that stuff so... Again, just try IRC. After the computer code stuff loads, you'll be at the IRC channel. Actually, I have played the game, and the reason that I originally undid the edit was because the place is very small and the first time you go there you can't really "explore". Hence, I always considered the Forest of Hope the first "real" area. However, now I agree with you, and I left this message to explain why I made the revert. Aiming for a contribution

I have some good things to say about Ganondorf, but I'm afraid I don't know how I'll be able to say anything without getting rid of some negative things or keeping his negative notes and being positive. Also, I don't know if talking about him without digging into more advanced game factors (such as shield game and priority) is considered acceptable. Well, of course, the first is his strength. The next is the strategies you can use. Very useful strategies. Like Thunderstomping. Thunderstomping, also, if done right, can lead into an aerial attack or Up Smash. He has his spike, of course. Also, he, contrary to normal belief, has great DI. I used the Down-Air in air once after being launched at high percentages, and it nearly stopped him, right there. If I used it in succession, I probably could've survived. Of course, Up-Air can help. And, although I haven't tried this, I have a theory that Forward-Air would work too, as you're pushing forward and stopping yourself in midair. Flame Choke is obviously his all-around move, that can be relevantly used for, well... anything, and chain-grabbing with him using the Flame Choke is a good way to deal damage, and if your enemy keeps getting caught in the chain, then an unpredictable finisher is the way to go at high %s. In stark contrast to what many people assume, his recovery is not so predictable. High in the air, he can use Wizard's Foot to go right toward a ledge. Used right, Flame Choke also guides you EXACTLY so that you can latch onto a ledge. Other strengths are his good damage-dealer, the jab. The shoulder tackle is swell too. His Smashes really grow on you, and feel perfectly fine after much use. And while I'm not much for tilts, they work effectively too. (except for his Volcano attack; bleh.) Grabs can be effective for getting foes in a better position. You can also throw an enemy near a ledge and use Wizard's Foot as an unpredictable KO tactic, and you'd still get back to solid ground with a quick leap back to the ledge. The only other move that feels useless (besides Up-Tilt) is Warlock Punch. How's this all? MAGMA (talk) 18:13, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Strategies are actually not too bad to have when they're in the attributes section of character articles, provided they're not in-depth or specific. For example, saying that the Wizard's Foot can make recovery less predictable is perfectly fine; in fact you'd be hard-pressed to call it a "strategy". In the same way, saying that Flame Choke is good for chain-grabbing is fine, whereas saying "then an unpredictable finisher is the way to go" is not. Don't be nervous about making an edit. No one would hold it against you if they have to revert your edit, everyone had at least one of their edits reverted before. As such, just don't make any obviously subjective or false edits. As for Wizard's Foot, it could help you as a counter edgeguard, but it is very risky and Ganondorf would have to be recovering from above for it to not result in a SD. You could make a note of it, but you would also have to properly explain the risk involved. Omega Tyrant

You should be as encyclopedic sounding as you can with your edit. The information can be in the attributes section as well. As to where to put it, just read through the attributes and find a place the information seems suitable. There may be a mass collection of words that probably does need some cleanup, but you can't be intimidated by such and if you look hard enough, you'll find somewhere to put it. Omega Tyrant

I prefer Mario, but I still like Sonic.

I don't like Items. In fact, I prefer to fight in Final Destination with all items turned off.

IRC is a place to talk about stuff not related to the wiki. It works as a well to send messages quickly. So whatever you type can appear at once. You can talk to multiple people on the same page as well. It's basically a better place to talk, in comparison to a talk page. Although talk pages are meant for srs biz, IRC is meant for that and humorous biz.--Mega Tron1 XD
