Nickelodeon trivia point
I happened to have made a page with all the references made. Is it possible that we can link that page here? Writing out all the references will probably crowd up the section as well. == Possible reference in PK Flash ==
So I noticed something while playing Mother 3 is that PK Flash is green as opposed to white like in EarthBound, and in Melee PK Flash is also green. Mother 3 released in 2006, about 5 years after Melee, so there is a possibility  that PK Flash being green might be based on its appearence in Melee.
It is still possible that it might be a coincidence though so... yeah  what are your thoughts? ::While this could be a reference, it could also be a case of a franchise adopting a Smash Bros. aspect later in its series (which multiple series do, as evidenced by this very page). == Smash reference in the Dillon series? ==
So, there's some concept art for Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers (which is viewable in-game, by the way, you just have to get good enough rankings on each stage), and one of them is of Dillon in a very similar pose to his trophy in Smash 4. For comparison:
*Smash 4 trophy
*DDHB concept art (This is probably the best quality it will be at until someone at The Spriter's Resource actually decides to rip this game)
Considering this is just concept art, but it is actually viewable within the game itself, is it fine to add it here? == Fangames / Smash-inspired games ==
To avoid starting an edit war, do Rivals of Aether and Fraymakers really count for this page? The specific idea here is to document direct references to Smash, and I don't think games inspired by Smash should count because they don't directly reference the series. It's usually the opposite, actually, to avoid legal trouble. By extension, this would also apply to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. If nothing else, a separate section for them would be preferable to me. ~ <span style="color: #e68;">StrawberryChan</span> (talk) 20:05, December 26, 2020 (EST)
:Okay, well, I moved them to their own section, if nothing else. I'm still not sure they belong on this page, but I think that's a better solution. ~ <span style="color: #e68;">StrawberryChan</span> (talk) 20:23, December 26, 2020 (EST)
I don't think, generally speaking, that we need to mention other platform fighters or crossover fighters just because they have general conceptual or gameplay overlap with Smash. This page is moreso for "this is intrinsically a reference to Smash" as opposed to a riff on the genre or concept. Kind of the difference between "this game has a cameo of a Metroid" versus "this is a sci-fi game focused on exploration". <font color="dodgerblue"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Miles <font color="silver">(<font color="silver">talk)</font></font></span></font> 20:48, December 26, 2020 (EST)
:That's what I was thinking, too. Putting them into a separate section is at least a stopgap of sorts, but if anything, might be worth splitting to their own page (like Fan game). ~ <span style="color: #e68;">StrawberryChan</span> (talk) 21:08, December 26, 2020 (EST)
Nick’s Super Brawl
I think Nick loves Smash clones too much, they may have a feti-
1. Super Brawl
2. Super Brawl 2
3. Super Brawl 3: Good Vs Evil
4. Super Brawl 4: Action Game
5. Super Brawl World
6. Super Brawl Universe
7. Smashfest
Should we just put Super Brawl as a series (& Smashfest as it’s own) RobbyB3ll4s (talk) 21:44, August 26, 2021 (EDT)
Sonic's pose- a reference or not?
Recently added references to Sonic's Brawl artwork, but they were cut due to supposedly being similar to a piece from Heroes.
This is the closets resembling one: https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/File:SonicHedge.png I'd argue against this since this one looks like it's a thumbs up combined with a crossing arms. The angle is very different as well. While Sonic has been thumbs up for a long time in artwork, ever since Brawl artwork has had the same camera angle, angle of quills, placement of shoes. What do you guys think?Ma321 (talk) 17:39, November 8, 2021 (EST)

Pokémon master trainer
On Pokémon let’s go Pikachu and Eevee, there is a Machop master trainer named Masahiro. Do you think that is a Masahiro Sakurai reference? 174.55.24.64 19:52, June 12, 2022 (EDT)
:Even if it is, you do know Mr. Sakurai has done more than Smash, right? It wouldn't be relevant to add that mention here. --CanvasK (talk) 19:55, June 12, 2022 (EDT)

Pikachu’s Smash moves referenced in Episode 18 of Diamond and Pearl?
I saw scenes in Episode 18 of the Diamond and Pearl anime and I found out that Pikachu performs similar moves when fighting Rampardos like Forward air and his Old Nair from Melee, but he doesn’t attack Rampardos when doing these similar moves.
