==Origin==
Swirlix is a Fairy-type Pokémon introduced in {{s|bulbapedia|Generation VI}}, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #684 as the "Cotton Candy Pokémon". It is found in the wild in ''Pokémon X'' as a version exclusive: its ''Y'' counterpart is {{pkmn|Spritzee}}. Swirlix evolves into {{pkmn|Slurpuff}} if traded holding a Whipped Dream. Both it and its evolved form have a signature Ability, Sweet Veil, which prevents it and any other active allies from falling asleep.

{{iw|bulbapedia|Cotton Spore|move}} is a move introduced in {{iw|bulbapedia|Generation II}} which lowers the target's Speed by two levels. Swirlix can learn it at level 17.
