Smasher:x After Dawn x
x After Dawn x is a Canadian smasher from Edmonton, AB. He is an active member of the Alberta Smash Bros. community and he enjoys playing all three Super Smash Bros. games, although he prefers to play the N64 version and Melee version over the Brawl version. To date, he has hosted 2 community-driven tournaments that have attracted many players from across the nation.
x After Dawn x started playing Super Smash Bros. when he was a child. Around the age of 6-9, he rented Super Smash Bros. for his Nintendo 64 and played it for the first time. Enjoying the game increasingly, he continuously rented it and played it at his friends' houses because he loved it so much. However, by the time he reached the age of 11 or so, he moved on from Smash and continued to play other games.
In late 2007, however, a spark reignited his desire to play Super Smash Bros. again. In his high school, he watched his friends play Super Smash Bros. Melee at a high, competitive level and he was greatly impressed by the speed and fluidity of their game. His interest still piqued, x After Dawn x researched more about the game and he figured out that Super Smash Bros. Melee was a highly competitive game with many advanced techniques and a large community.
In January 2008, x After Dawn x's friends convinced him to start playing the original Super Smash Bros. once again. He started playing it and thoroughly enjoyed it, but it wasn't enough. Not only did this mark the point where he started playing Super Smash Bros. 64 competitively over Kaillera, but this is also when he started getting interested in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He researched the game and found out about many of the advanced techniques and information about the game. When the game was released in March 2008, x After Dawn x played Brawl and loved it. Interested still, he bought a Wii shortly later and finally became part of the Brawl community in his province for many months to come.
In late 2008, x After Dawn x decided to retire from competitive Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. 64 in favor of playing Super Smash Bros. Melee. From then until today, he continues to play Melee to compete in tournaments, while still playing Super Smash Bros. 64 occasionally on the side for non-competitive friendlies.
 Tournament Directing
x After Dawn x, along with Alphicans, hosted the Alberta tournament ADAT1 on July 12th, 2008 (After Dawn Alphicans Tournament). It was considered a huge success, with over 50 attendees and 4 events in one day, including both Melee and Brawl (as well as Smash 64 friendlies). It was the second Brawl tournament in the Alberta Smash scene, and it is considered the first large-scale Brawl tournament in the Alberta Smash scene, with 4 months of practice available before the tournament.
x After Dawn x and Alphicans then hosted ADAT2 on July 24/25, 2009. They held Melee events such as Singles and Doubles on the first day and Brawl events such as Singles, Doubles, and Low Tier on the second day. It attracted players from outside the province and even from the USA, and the tournament was the biggest one for Brawl in West Coast Canada. It outnumbered the number of entrants that attended ADAT1, and was attributed by entrants as a hugely successful tournament.
x After Dawn x is known to be able to play a wide variety of characters at tournament level. In Super Smash Bros. 64, his fortés include Fox, Captain Falcon, and Pikachu, though he is able to play all characters well. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, his fortés include Fox, Falco, Pikachu, Sheik, Captain Falcon, Mario, Luigi, and Meta Knight. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, his fortés include Falco, Marth, and Fox.
On November 14th, 2009, x After Dawn x attended the first Edmonton Melee Monthly and placed 5th in Melee Singles and 4th in Melee Doubles, his best placings since beginning his smash career.
